Hi,

Im purchasing a 2nd hand sigma 70-200mm F2.8 EX APO HSM,

Will this work on my 400d although it doesn't have DG?

Thanks

mark

DG is just an optical coating, so yes, the lens will still physically work on your camera.

i thought dc was for digital crop frame cameras. and dg was for full frame digital and 35mm film. although the older(film) ones still work on crop sensor cameras i think.

sigma only list the 70-200 ex dg at the mo, as far as i can see.

hi,

the one im looking at is the oldest version of the lens, so although it doesn't have DG it will still work?

Yes, DG has absolutely nothing to do with things working. We've said that already :)

Assuming you are looking at a 70-200 f/2.8 EX HSM (might be an APO in there somewhere too) it will work.
