I bet there is no anwser to this but ill ask anyway. you never know your luck. My Sigma EF-530 DG ST keeps going to sleep if you leave it for to long. it is not on the camera its wired only 5 feet away and is a pain. Any chance of stopping it going to sleep? or even waking it up with the camera. my SB 800 goes to sleep and wakes up when you touch the shutter button.

This is just the auto power off function..

On my 430mkii you can turn this off.

Have a look in your flash manual...

I'd expect this to be a custom function. I could find a manul online, but you should have one. Take a look, typically it is possible to disable "power save" mode (or what ever is's called by Sigma).
