I'm looking at buying a dedicated flash as I am getting more into portrait stuff, it's just for fun and have quite a few baby shoots lined up I'm doing free of charge for friends, I want to buy a new flash that will last and also be suitable if I decide to do more portrait stuff in the future. Have been looking at the Nikon sb700 but also read a few reviews about the sigma ef530. Seems its main downfall is no Lcd screen on the unit, I've never used a flash before and a lot will be trial and error, the sigma is massively cheaper than the Nikon but gets great reviews, does any one have any experience of using one? Would it be suitable for indoor portrait photography, not studio based although I have a small portable studio background I bought 2m x2m with a 3m white canvas.
Many thanks
