I have one of these (which I am intending to sell as it happens) and love it.

PROs: Really sharp, nice DoF, pleasing bokeh (to me at least), nice positive zoom control
CONs: Heavy (900g ish I think), no IS (but it is f/2.8)

It comes with hood and tripod collar and is great. I'm only selling it as I moved systems and found that I didn't ever use the length (bought it when I was still getting to grips with photography).

I'd certainly recommend it but have not tried the canon series lenses for comparison.

Once I hit sufficient posts I'll put mine up for sale here (but I am not intending to spam the forum to get there!).

love mine to bits.

no issues at all, fast AF, tack sharp all the way through the ranges, well built.

no IS but that isnt a big deal really. some people think its heavy but its easily hand held all day at motorsport events imo.

let us know if you want example images so we can all be ASWs lol

I'm with neil g, I've had one for two years & use it for motorsport/wildlife. Sometimes I wish it was longer but you can't have everything :D

Wait, are you talking about your lens there? ;)

I've used one, one of my favourite lenses, but unfortunately was out of my price range when looking for a telephoto lens, and not suitable because I needed one with IS.

:lol::lol:

cheers ,and pm sent to it's alive

now i just got to figure out is it worth me jumping up to 5d mk1 or 1ds ,

right ,with ya,
1ds would be mk1 as would the 5d if iam getting one

Had one for a year now. Can't fault the image quality, although I did fall out of love with it a few months back because it needed re-calibrating (which I now suspect is the camera and not the lens).

Amazing image quality for the money, built to last but jeez, it weighs a ton. Looks well pro though :)

well bought this lens ,very nice to, thanks for the replies

done some a posted in portrait section on here using the lens
