Hello

Jut wondering would anyone be able to post a few sample shots from the above combinations at the long end (280mm & 400mm) wide open? and which extender do you use?

Considering getting a 2x as i could do with the extra reach but cant afford a 400mm at present :(

Don't know about the sigma 70-200 with a 1.4 X converter, but the Canon 70-200 works well with the Canon 1.4 X. Sigma 70-200 is a great lenses ,but I would go with the 1.4 over the 2 X on a zoom lens.

I have used it with both the 1.4 and 2x It is ok with the 1.4 but it loses iq on faster moving subjects with the 2x and if I notice it must show!!

No pics as I don't make notes of what combination or lens I use, I will leave that to others.

I use the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 with a 2x TC and I notice the noise a lot. I would say start with the 1.4x and go from there. If you need extra reach then maybe look to getting the 2x.

:agree:

I use one with a Kenko Pro 300 2x, it needs good light to AF & slows down a lot so I tend to only use it in MF.

Shot at 400mm in RAW/hand held with no pp/sharpening.
