You can get the Sigma 55-200mm f/4-5.6 for £35.97 from Jessops on in-store collection only at the moment.

Not the fastest or most expensive lens in the world, but for £35 notes it's worth it as cheap walkabout lens. Results are supposed to be pretty sharp around f8-f11, and reviews are pretty favourable across many review sites.

Picked mine up this afternoon from Cardiff.

Use SIGMA10 for an extra 10% off taking it down to £35.97.

Hi guys,

Is this a good lens, at the moment all i have is a d40 with the 18-55 kit lens.

Would this be a good recomendation to add to my collection?

TIA

It's not HSM, so you'd miss out on the auto focus. It'll work fine, but you'll have to focus manually.

I plan on picking one of these up. For £35 it's too good to miss.

You don't miss out on autofocus, HSM = hypersonic motor - equivelent of Canons USM system - it make AF very quiet and quicker than non - usm/hsm lenses

im a bit of a novice (sorry for the silly q), will this lens autofocus on my d40?

This lens will not autofocus on your d40. Look for the Sigma HSM lenses and the Nikon AF-S. These will both autofocus on a D40

Some people (on Hotukdeals) said that the cannons were also listed at £39.99 in store. It might be worth calling your local stores to check.

This offer is over, I asked in store as well about it at two different local branches and they both said that the lens was no longer available from Jessops! :(
Will teach me to be slow about making a decision!

Try online still available in Bristol and surrounding area, and don't forget discount codes.

its still going, the "sigma10" code has expired, but i picked one up today for £39.97 at my local jessops

Bloody Bargain

LENS10 should have given you a 10% discount, unless that's ended as well.

LENS10 does work, I used it yesterday.

The 55-200 disappeared from the website for a bit last week, but is back now. I had to call up 4 of the stores though because of stock errors saying they had the lens in stock when they didn't.

i was entering sigma10, not lens10, hence why it dodnt work... the earlier offer must have ended

Try quidcofive 5% and go through quidco 3% or topcashback 2%.
If buying any of Jessops own brand use JESODHSC25 25%.

The sigma dedicated ef 500 dg stflash is now £19.99

Jessops also has a Sigma 17-70mm f2.8/4 DC Nikon AF for under £80. Are these any good?

ive read a few reviews and i think they are, ordered one last night to collect at store

Website said LENS10 has expired so i used quidcofive and got it for £75

if anyone missed out on the 55-200, as they are now up at £60, i dont need mine now as ive bought a 70-300.

Just want what i paid + delivery, so £43 delivered, binned the box, but its only been used once to check it.
