Sigma 50 - 500mm faulty

I have been offered a broken Sigma 50-500mm lens for £50 but it's for the Canon mount and I don't shoot Canon.
The mount at the end of the lens is quite loose and the Zoom is stuck at 50mm, the barrel is also missing a piece just behind the filter ring which all point towards impact damage of some sort. The lens tries to AF but more often than not fails, it can however be manually focused (albeit only at 50mm obviosly) and does communicate electronically with the body.
My question is, would this be beyond economical repair, is it worth selling on ebay as parts or not working or is it just scrap and should be binned?

Does it have OS?
If not its one of the early ones and probably not worth fixing ,with the serial no sigma might give you an idea

No OS on this so I'll probably tell him to put it on ebay.
