Does anyone use this specifically with weddings in mind ?

I'm thinking of getting one for detail shots/bridal prep etc.

I generally use my 24-70 or 50 f1.4 for this but am thinking the Sigma would avoid choosing between the two.

Anyone swear by it for the above ?
 
@Mank uses one, he loves it, I know of a few Canon shooters who use 35mm a lot too, though I honestly can't say who's using the Siggy and who's using the 35L
 
Very tempted with this too... have the 24-70mm... would be nice to have a prime for something different, and back up in an emergency...
 
It's an awesome lens, comparable to the canon and nikon versions for half the price. My 24-70 is gathering dust since I got mine and only comes out when I need something wider, which is rare.

Now do I go new or try to source a used one ...........:cool:
 
Doing a wedding for a friend end of month, using the Sigma 35, an 85 and a 150. Have a 300 too but doubt I'll use it, maybe for some candids after the ceremony. But the 35 will get the most use for sure.
 
Friend has borrowed mine for 2 weddings in the last month. He loves it has you don't need to sharpen the images taken with it.
 
It's sharper than my Nikkor 35mm. Cracking lens. Only thing stopping me getting one is the lack of weather sealing. Ireland is pretty damn wet.
 
You can sing that one! :D It's the only minus point of the 35 for me too. Though for the price, won't complain too much.

I use one for weddings. It's on one of my bodies for the whole day. I sold my 24-70 because I didn't feel I needed it after growing so attached to the 35mm.

I will say that it's not my favourite focal length (I prefer longer for portraiture) but it's great for the wider shots and is so sharp. I particularly like using it during the bridal prep part of the day.

In fact I can't believe Nikon think anyone will spend £1200+ on the inferior 35 1.4G. It's great to see a third party lens manufacturer showing Nikon how it should be done.
 
I do most weddings using the popular 35/85 combo with occasional 45pce and 24mm dalliances. Recently I've been doing couple shoots using nothing but a 35.

I sold my Nikon 24-70 and got the Sigma 35 plus an 85 1.8G with the money. I felt it was more than worthwhile :)
 
I'm really keen to get the Sigma 35 f1.4...debating the cost but it seems to have great reviews in comparison to the Canon f2.

Anyone had problems with it front-focusing at all?
