Sigma 24-60mm Vs Sigma 24-70mm Vs Tamron 28-75mm?

As the title of this post, im about to get a Nikon D80 and would like a general walk-about lens.

I have come down to the following three lenses, but would like to know which is the best? I.E. Sharpness, Build Quality and opinions?

Sigma 24-60mm f/2.8 EX DG
Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG MACRO
Tamron SP AF 28-75mm Di f2.8

Any help appreciated, there are some reviews out and about but they all seem to contradict each other, any help appreciated, or another lens suggestion for the same money, with good low light potential as above...
 
I have the Canon fit version of the Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 - bought a few weeks back and it's barely left the camera yet! Sharp as a sharp thing - I'm impressed!
 
I'd add a good user comment for the Tamron 28-75. Very sharp even wide open. If there is a down side its that 28 is not wide enough sometimes.
 
I would get either the Tamron 28-75 or even go for the Tamron 17-50 Di II f2.8 which is meant to be sharper.

I have read tons and tons of reviews recently and the 17-50 gets the nose in terms of sharpness and image quality by all accounts.
 
I have the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8, and have nothing but good to say about it. Sharp, well-made, and no gripes about image quality.
 
I have the Sigma and have used it for about a year now. Would not part with it as it is a fantastic lens. Not as fast as the L glass at focusing but still quick

Can't help but agree with Joe. Test after test suggests this is THE kit lens. Because it is labelled "kit lens" it gets ignored. Marianne got one with her D70, she absolutley adores it. I've used it on numerous occassions and have been totally impressed with the results.

The only thing the other lenses give you is an extra 1/2 stop, if that is what you really need then there's not really a lot to distinguish a clear leader in those you've considered.

I would add that 28mm on any Nikon dSLR is not going to be that wide, even the 24mm only equates to 36mm which is the field of view most compacts have been giving for decades!
