Yes
I have been looking for a lens to cover between 24-70 as I have the Tokina 12-24 and 70-200F4L I can get from the states the Sigma 24-60 for £132 inc shipping which on the surface looks great but my question is

How much duty would I pay?

If I had a problem with lens is there a sigma service center who would be able recalibrate as the lens comes with a US 12month sigma warrant, so I doubt if Sigma uk would touch it

Warehouse express are selling this lens at £199 if the price differance is not that great I will buy from them

This lens was available from this us dealer as little as 104 inc shipping a few weeks ago.

Duty will bump that price right up, and I've been very unlucky really - your mileage may vary, but I'd get it from Warehouse Express.

And in fact I did! Picked up one of these as a handy all rounder (I have a 5D, so it's wide is actually pretty wide).

It's a good lens, center sharpness is good, corners slightly less so but decent contrast and nice handling. For the price it is excellent and the only upgrade from here is the Canon 24-70 which is over three times the price...

Cheers,
James

been looking at the exact same lens, but also inthe 24-70

i like the fixed low 2.8 appature, ideal for what I plan to use it for.

Just sold a lens last night on ebay so the funds are now in hand ;)

I brought a 24-70 recently and am really chuffed with it...

The 24-70 is a great lens, but the 24-60 is MUCH smaller and lighter, but with the same f2.8 and quality.

If you don't need the 60-70mm range, I'd grab one.

Cheers,
James

Was a little whacked last night when I posted this so here the answer. Added to the £139 would be 6.7% and 17.5 % vat total £174 and no UK warranty so not worth the effort when you can buy from Warehouse express. This lens gets a 9 on Fred Miranda and has a lot of fans on a certain canon website links below hence my interest in buying the lens have considered the 24-70 but given price between the two the 24-60 is a good choice

Yep, the FM reviews were enough to convince me.

At that price, it's worth it as a carryaround!

Shot with mine yesterday - a very dull shot, but no post processing has provided a nice sharp shot for the majority of the frame.

Does this lens fit on both 30D and 5D bodies - ie is it an EF-S or whatever style lens ?

It will fit the 30D and 5D

Well I finally decided to to take the plunge on this lens given that the 24-70 EX DG MACRO is retailing for £277 and £207 for the EX DG non marco version on Warehouse express I have bought of e bay today the 24-60 EX DG for £167 inc delivery new with 12 months warranty.

I have looked at the 24-70 for a long time in all its variants and felt that that for the sightly less reach this lens for the money fits what I wanted. Yes I wanted L glass but until my six numbers come up I will have make do with this

The lens has a great number of fans both here and on other camera forums.

Lets hope its a sharp copy once I get it I will post a few pictures from Raw

If you are after one just enter sigma 24-60 on the bay the guy has them in Nikon,Canon, Fuji flavours
