Arrived yesterday and given it a few test shots and wow i'm very impressed, its spot on. focus is quick and quiet quality of pics are superb at all levels and the macro's excellent to, bokeh is also excellent. After so much dithering i'm glad i opted for this one.
If your looking for an excellent all rounder i would highly recommend this one. I dont think i'll be needing to change lenses with this.

interested in this myself, expensive for what I want to pay at the moment but have heard good things so far.
i'm particularly interested in the wide angle side of things
I found long zoom lenses tend to bow and cause curvature...the canon 17-85 was horrible in this respect imho

can you share some wide urban shots? to see how it handles the verticals?
thanks and enjoy your new lens :)

I'm glad you like it, just be aware though that if you're planning to use a UV filter you'd be best off trying a few before you buy one. I had the 18-125 OS and it was nice and sharp without a filter but went very soft with a Hoya filter on it. I also had a similar experience with a Tamron 28-300 VC so I think the filter affects the superzooms more than usual.
I just use the hoods now for protection and only use a filter if the conditions are really poor.

Yes thanks for that ill stick with the hood ill post some pics in the next few days, laptop being repaired at the moment
