Hi i have this lens for nikon someone ask if it was HSM how could i tell if it does
 
I'm not 100%, but I think it would have it marked on the lens, near where the 17-70mm part is?
 
Not sure as i looked online at the hsm only and looks no different to the one i have

Mines the is the same as on the sigma web site but it does not say any were on the box or lens it has hsm in it
 
You could always give Sigma a ring in the morning with your serial number - I'm sure they would be able to tell you the exact model you have. :thumbs:
 
Mine is the HSM version and it says on the lens

17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC Macro HSM

Just got one of these new on Friday and it has 'HSM' marked just in front of the aperture numbering at the end of the lens length/aperture designation.
 
Ok thanks just wonderd why it dont show it in the pic on the sigma web site or any other when i look

Yeah, the lazy toads have left the old pic of the non-HSM model up and just tagged the HSM model on the end of the spec sheet for it....
 
I have the HSM version of this lens and it has it written on the lens and on the box. If you have the HSM version then you'll know instantly with a quick look at it.

I'm actually putting mine up for sale as I replaced it with a Nikon 24-120mm a couple of weeks ago. I'll be putting a thread in the For Sale forum tonight if anyone's interested or you can PM me for details.
