well my dock arrived today had a quick little setup of the custom settings so will see how it goes at the weekend

Really not keen on the colour one myself. Don't like the white dots of highlights within the orange colour.

Back down to the feeders by the river today. Sat in the car for 3 hrs with my camera resting on a bag on the wound down window.
Quite a few dif birds today too.

any of you guys done panning (motorsports etc.) with this lens? I haven't yet but as motorsport season beckons I'll be trying it out, just wondered if you had any advice/ shots for it? better off hand holding than investing in a monopod?

have many of you had to Micro adjust the lens to body,im thinking of getting one but the d3300 doesn't allow MA.

You could buy the dock or lend mine if needed. I have now owned three of them and IMO they have all been smack on.

Quite pleased with this as it was hand held. I don't take many without a tripod or beanbag.

In spring and summer I hand hold, when the light is poor I use my tripod or monopod

Most (mine included) seem to need no adjustment at all - they seem bang on straight out of the box.

Monopod with gimbal, or a bean bag. In the summer with good light hand hold.

Depends if you update the lens firmware. If it's old firmware the older apo one will work - if it's got updated firmware only the 1401 works
