Sigma 120-300mm APO and DG? what's the difference?

Hi all.

I just been reading up on the Sigma 120-300mm F2.8
and checking over the manufacture site http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/lenses/telezoom/120-300mm.htm

there was two versions of this? correct?

  • Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 EX APO HSM

    120-300mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM

is there a noticeable difference between the two? which is best?
 
The DG just denotes an anti-reflection coating that Sigma added for use with DSLRs. Other than that im sure they're the same.
