Morning all,

Just wondering if these are any good with footballing photography?

Looking into option, the Nikon 300mm is alittle way off yet but thinking this may fill in slighlty

would run alongside a Nikon 70-200 VR, used on bright days i'm also thinking 1,4x TC and getting 400mm

Whats your thoughts/opinions

good on the canon (cant comment nikon)... but forget the 1.4 tc ..not good
 
Agree with KIPAX - good on Canon, have my second one of them now and at least the papers seem to think the quality of images if good enough...
Keeper rate not as high as it was from Canon 300mm 2.8 - but it's good enough for me!
 
I use one on a Nikon and it is spot on. This is my second one though. The first was not quite nailing the shots at the hit rate expected and so (after a season) I sent it back to sigma uk. A replacement arrived by return, brand new, and it has been my main sports lens ever since. Highly recommended and great customer service.

I had one for Motorsports a couple of years back then went to the 300 F4 AF-S Nikon and preferred that for images.

Thats what put some doubt into my head with regards using it for football
 
I miss my 120-300, I didn't really use it for Rugby though and only messed around with football.


I also used it a lot with the 1.4x TC at airshows and I think it did ok.
