Sigma 105mm f2.8 Lens

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I was potentially looking at purchasing this lens. My question is, has anyone got this lens, and what are your thoughts?

I have the Sigma 105 DG EX Macro, Canon fit. It's probably my sharpest lens and it's great for macro. The AF is a bit slow, but not enough to bother me. It's one lens that I won't part with.

Agree AF can hunt, particularly in poor light, but it is sharp when it gets there. I use it mainly for macro so use manual focus. I have the Nikon fit.
I am currently upgrading all my 3rd party lenses and Nikon kit lenses. The Sigma 105 f2.8 macro is the only one I will be keeping.

Have used it, can't fault the quality. AF, as previously noted, hunts around quite a lot.

Thank you for the replies. I think I may make a purchase. I have recently borrowed a friends Nikon 105mm marco, but I've managed to take some really good portraits with it.

I have it...I use it for macro and as a medium prime...nice lens but it's a little slow to focus.
