Sigma 100-400 £799 launch price

Not really, it's a workaround and it'd be f8 and I dare say the SIgma and Tamron would be significantly better than this combo.

The combo still gives good results, f8 still gives autofocus on several bodies, but the conversation seems to have seems veered away from the sigma 100-400

100-400 with 1.4tc would be an equivalent?

But that's not an equivalent lens, you're adding an accessory in effect to modify it to bring it to spec, and a lower spec at that.

Here's my take I bought the 150-600c after trying the canon 100-400 mk2. I could not fault either lens. As I shoot wildlife I went for the longer lens. No regrets. I do like tele converters so that was never an option.

Looks good with the 5D4 , downloading the raws now, pretty impressive raws with lightroom, enjoyed playing with those, looks a decent combo.

I was looking at them last night but we're unable to download the raw file as Lightroom refused to open it, so my guessing is that it corrupted during the download.

Minimum aperture F5? Was hoping for more, but i guess we can't complain at the price.

No, that's the maximum aperture. Compared to the Canon version, it's only 1/3 stop slower, which is not that big a deal.
