Received an email from Galaxy66 to advise he was thinking of taking a look at one of these with a view to buying if any good.
http://www.jessops.com/online.store... DG Tele Converter (Canon AF)-32176/Show.html
I was in the Metro Centre today and visited Jessops to take a look because as Mal had pointed out they were reduced from £137.01 to £48.93 and when I asked about it the guy just looked at me blankly and said that I must have been mistaken as the price seemed a little on the small side?????
I showed the guy where it was on the website to which he replied that they had a Jessops one for over £100 which is better?
I asked if it would be possible to take a look at one of the converters to which he responded "That means I've gotta go and look for it, fffffrr?$!!!". He walked to the store room which was 6 feet away, stuck his head round the door, turned back and said they had none in stock.
I asked how long would it take to get one in stock and he just shrugged his shoulders and said probably a month?
I'd had enough at this point so I just left the shop absolutely seething.:bang:
Any body had a similar issue with Jessops?
Are they going under because their shelves seemed very empty?

I've ordered one off the website so hopefully don't have to deal with the spanners that work there. I'm sure they do have nice staff too though ;)

yes, you are certainly not alone, I was in the metrocentre before christmas and they seemed to struggle with even simple requests. I was also given the head around the door, no not in stock response. The ones in Northampton and peterborough are no better, and Kettering were not happy to order one of the Sigma 1.4TCs in for me.

I have ordered one of the Sigma converters from their website and will await its delivery. (with fingers very much crossed!!!)

You ask about their stock - I have been scouring round for a 50mm F1.8 and a 35mm F2 - none of their local stores have either lens - and by local I mean within 40 miles.
Only a limited few have the 50mm F1.4 too.

From that I deduce they are definitly running on minimal stock to no stock! Not a positive outlook for the camera store I used to rely on when I needed pretty much anything quick.

sometimes there helpful sometimes there not, depends who serves you i guess

stock does seem low at present.

plenty of cameras in stock, just not many lenses. Interestingly they are coming up cheapest for a lot of things now..

I had alot of trouble trying to get help with people that worked in shops like currys, jessops, etc etc
Just before christmas
It seemed like everyone that helped me had just started puberty and didn't have a clue what they were talking about, aswell as could not be bothered to be there.
Anyone else had this problem?
lol
