sigma 1.4x convertor

i have a sigma 70-200 2.8, a 1dmk11 and a 40d, would it be worth buying a 1.4x convertor to help with my motorsport shots using this lens until i can afford a 300/400mm ? or would it cause me problems in focusing etc

Yes, I use the same combination (1DMKII, siggy 70-200 F2.8 +1.4TC), and it works a treat.
a/f is a bit slower (but still fast on a 1 body), IQ doesn't suffer (not so you would notice)
