Sigma 1.4 extender £49. Canon Fit

If it takes more than 30 days I think I would be quite in my rights to ask for a suitable Canon brand replacment :lol: What do you reckon? :p
 
You must be joking... argh... so they put it in the sales, get loads of orders, then abandon them all? I wonder why Jessops are struggling...

It makes no sense to sell at a loss, and customers who are inclined to tell them to "shove it" probably aren't the sort you want to retain anyhow :)
 
Earlier in the thread it was revealed that they were -270 in stock, therefore a queue of getting on for 300 people wanting them.

I'm not sure what their cost price is but if retail is £ 150ish, knocking £ 100 off the price of this line isn't a normal sale - its a clearance sale - just get rid.

However word got out on forums like this and rather than selling the last 20 or so around the country, lots of people bought one, some were lucky, others won't be.

Time for me to bump my wanted ad for the Canon 1.4x and if that does not get me the result I am looking for then it will just have to be a new one for me.
 
I ordered mine online as soon as I heard the offer (the Sunday) and was at the shop before it opened as I knew they only had one. I originally tried to order 3, rejected for in-store pickup, 2 - rejected, 1 - got.
 
ordered mine on the 26th Dec at the local store assured me they could get one recieved email today stating there was a delay in del due to no stock not at all amused will be walking in tomorrow to see what teh score is

As much as I understand they won't be able to get stock for all the orders, I'm surprised that they seem to be giving very mixed messages to every different caller. It feels a little like a one-armed-bandit, just give it another tug and you never know, you will probably get one... :D
 
Having just phoned the branch in question there is no truth whatsoever in rumours going around various forums that Jessoppswill not honour their orders and mine should be in stock by Weds at the latest

Right, I decided to give Jessops a call and find out the TRUE state of play. The product has been discontinued by Jessops, so it is no longer available on their website. However, they claim that in cases like these they make a final order to fulfil those who have already placed orders, and it is not standard practice to not fulfil orders. That said, at present, they don't know exactly when the next shipment of extenders will be arriving.

Therefore, at best, it seems we will have to hold out and wait and see! The person I spoke to was certainly not giving any impression that they were planning to abandon orders.

Still convinced they will not ulfil any orders placed, probably just the opinion of the person you spoke to.
 
Has anyone actually received one of these? (other than the 3 previously stated)

i didnt bother trying to get one as i knew it will be limited stock.

A friend that ordered his after I bought mine, got the 'more stock due in on 12/01/2009 email' has just had an another email stating it's been dispatched this morning.
 
Being the OP I must have been been among the first to order on here and I have heard nowt apart from my order confirmation despite 2 emails to them.
 
My order acknowledgement is dated 21/12/2008 at 19.53pm so his would have been later that night or 1st thing the next morning.

I'll let you know if he gets it ok.
