Hello all
It occurred to me that I haven't done the "hello, here's me" thing and you might want to know who / what I am.
I'm sideshowbob, a 30 something research bod who lives in north Cumbria and posts under the same alias and minor variations (SSB) on other DVD / AV forums (you know the ones). Found this place through Marcel (left a trail of breadcrumbs) and I recognise a few names (abbreviated though they may be in some cases) from elsewhere.
Only been shooting with a DSLR for about a year, had a few months off after selling my 300d in a hissy fit, buying a D70, selling that, then buying another just days later*. So, all in all I'm maybe a little erratic in my camera ownership.
I've not really settled on a preferred style or subject area, but I do like taking landscapes (although I need to get better at them) and wildlife, including our two English Springers (although they need to learn to sit still at the appropriate moments).
Technically I have moments of (self perceived) greatness, but largely I'm still very much an improver. I do like the post processing side, again though I'm at the bottom end of the ladder with regard to skill.
So, that's it. Nice to meet you. :thumb:
* there's an Alfa Romeo with a blown engine, a pair of James Blunt tickets and some minor domestic financial mismanagement in the whole story, but I'll spare you the details.
