Shutter replacement 5d

Hi all

My shutter has failed on my 5D - wondering whether it's economic to get it replaced.
Does anyone have any idea how much this would cost?

I thought the mirror falling off, which is the 5d's known fault, and shutter failure which the op says has happened to him, were two different things?

Thanks all. Mirror has already been replaced, it's the actual shutter that has failed.

No probs Giovanni I wasn't sure whether it might be the mirror rather than shutter.

Shouldn't cost more than £100 probably more like £80.

Thanks....plus the labour costs presumably so more like 200 quid I reckon. That's ok. I've sent some repair quotes off so will see Monday.

Anyone used Camera Repair Direct in Cranleigh? Have a quote from them, seems reasonable.

Had some quotes in - most are around the £200 mark, although one well know company wanted £330!

Colchester Camera repairs turned it around in 4 working days! Impressive considering they serviced the camera, replaced the shutter, focusing screen, SI screen and mirror foam supports. All for £200.
