Hello,
I'm trying to find out the shutter count on a nikon or canon camera and even though I'm using opanda, "Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera" is missing ?!
Any ideas why or there is any other free program I can use for this?
Thanks a lot!

For any program to read the shutter count it must be a totally untouched file straight off the card.

Thanks Gary, I've already tried this site but even though I've got a jpeg straight from the camera, I get an error message: "file not supported". I need to install a program on my PC.

On Nikons it's in the EXIF data.

Photoshop/File/File Info.

This is what myshuttercount.com makes of a uncropped, full res D800 file.

It did the same with a D7000 file too, and a D3X file. Clearly, it's rubbish.

I've managed to get all the info with Kuso Exif Viewer

Its not rubbish, you just dont know how to use it, you need to upload ir direct from the card, dont even transfer it to your PC, straight from the card only.

Genuinely curios, why does transferring to the PC make any difference? If I copy a file from one source to the other it doesn't change the file itself..?

Ni idea Richard but i was getting the same "error" and was advised on Fred Miranda forums to do it straight from the card and its worked as it should do by using this method.

If you're a Flickr user then the shutter count features in the EXIF displayed with the image.

On a mac, you can use Preview and go to tools and it'll tell you :)
