Just curious I had my D750 to Nikon for the recall even though I had not seen any problems I thought it was best to avoid any future issues.

It had the shutter replaced (and serviced) but I just noticed the shuttercount is not zero. Would replacing the shutter not zero the shuttercount or am I mistaken. I suppose I thought of it as a car getting a new engine and the miles being zero

the rest of the camera is used/worn so i guess not resetting it makes more sense really
thinking about it you dont zero cars, unless its a ringer

As far as I can see, shutter count is the only way to establish just how much use the camera has had so I wouldn't expect it to be zeroed if the shutter was replaced.

When you have a new engine installed the milage isn't zeroed, you just note down the milage of when it was changed.

So effectively then the shutter is really back to zero, it's just that the count is left for a reference to how much use the camera has had, that's my understanding anyway, otherwise you can't really say it's had a new shutter but the count is of the original shutter say for arguments sake it was 50000 when in affect the new one hasn't yet taken a frame yet (assuming it's only just come back from the Nikon)

Thanks folks it makes sense really that it would stay the same and it makes no difference to me but I was just curious. Suppose I got paranoid that they had maybe not changed it :cautious: :sneaky:
