Just updated my firmware on my D200 and for some strange reason its gone up from just over 1800 activations to over 3900 why ?
Any sugestion and has anybody had similar problems...
Thanks

When you say "shutter count" do you mean the file number, or the actual shutter count? If you check the EXIF on a photo taken before the firmware update is there a 2100 difference in the numbers?

Its the EXIF data..theres post on the net where others have had similar probs after updating there firmware ..Some have had there counters re set too..Whats going of ?

I can't say it's something I've ever heard of. What I have seen though is someone take a pic that has a file name of say DSC_1234, change cards and suddenly the next image is DSC_3456, because the second card has been used previously in a different camera and is continuing counting from where it left off in that one.

If, on the other hand, when you inspect the EXIF data on Flickr the "image number" on one shot is 1234 and the next 3456 then you have the issue you describe, but as I say it's not something I've personally ever seen before....
