I'm into my second day and still not picked up the camera, got some ideas too ;)
 
me too :D Not sure what I'm going to do yet. Might see if I can get one of my sexy girl friends to pose for me.. :)

The first shot of 52 for 2010. With the theme of 'Curved' I headed off to the local marina, with the idea of talking a shot of the bow of a boat. Took a while to find the right boat and composition, but ended up with this. Kind of an abstract image, as that's my kind of style too.

A strong 1st image, I love the blue sky against the black and white of the boat

Yeah I struggled with this theme, so I will change mind shortly

Normally I would have cloned out the dirt on the hull, but I was holding my 2 year old whilst in Photoshop :D

Great shot Julian, I think this is my favorite shot for curved so far, Suppose it helps that I like boats:D.
 
very powerful shot - and certainly curved! :thumbs:
(hull does need a wipe with a damp rag though - or you have a serious case of dust bunnies!)
 
Love the contrast between the blue sky and the boat - absolutely stunning! I know you said the circular polariser played a helping hand, but it's not always easy to get the sky the perfect shade of blue, but you've got the perfect colour on this shot.

And that sky is amazing! Was it really that blue, or has it had a bit of a helping hand? Either way it works brilliantly and it's such a strong crisp image.

Thanks Sarah, not much tweaking was needed as I used a polariser and today's sky down here on the coast was stunning ;)

Thanks Mike, I will have to use a bit of a cloning to fix this shot. Some boat owners had pulled up when I started taking shots of this boat, so didn't want to start to wipe out.

Thanks ProG, the sun was at the perfect angle. With only slight tweaking in PS.

Managed to get some time to clone out the cobwebs and dirt on the boat ;)
