This is a very common type shot and I've even seen paintings that are similar, what's odd is when converting it from Hor to vert it's stretch it out to an ugly size picture
Taken a while back when I was using lovely 35mm Superia 200

Last week I spent a few days on the Ardnamurchan peninsula. Here are two views of a tree stump on the shore at Kilchoan.

Absolutely loving the texture and contrast in these, and the compositions really work for me as well.

An unusual one for me. I don't usually like including people in my photos, but I made an exception on this occasion. They are also suitably small in the frame I feel . Possibly a marmite shot as well...

I finished the cur length of very old Ilford XP2 ( the forerunner of Ilford XP2 400 SUPER ) in my Minolta 9000 - now i will give it a 'Rest' and use others of my 'Minolta Collection' I gave it a little longer in C41 and negs came out 'light Brown' and some scanned a bit 'Magenta' until I hit 'JPeg B&W' in Vuescan

I think the faded tones that the Metropolis has really suit this scene Chris. A washed out grittiness that works nicely with the closed down pub.
