I had a look in streetview, and it exceeded expectations for awfulness - the 2010 block is enormous, and the poor old pub is dwarfed by the acres of bland, brutal and relentlessly ugly concrete, glass and tarmac that surrounds it.

My heart bleeds for these old town and city centres. The town planners and so-called architects that formulated these hideous, homogenous nightmares have, in aesthetic and cultural terms, no less to answer for than the Luftwaffe. The latter just gave them their opportunity. I often wonder how philistinism was allowed to so systematically debase the noble art of architectural design and draughtmanship.

My apologies for the rant. I am a great admirer of your film work, and I love these Holga images. They strike a very human chord, I suspect it has something to do with the imperfect way in which we remember.

The shapes in the white rock (chalk?) at the base of the arch are glorious. Reminds me of those big tubs of ice-cream you see in gelatarias sprinkled with nuts and drizzled with sauce.
 
After wandering around in the bitter cold easterly wind the other day that made several photo attempts impossible, I was adamant on returning home with something.

This was taken on a whim ...my initial view through the broken structure of the "hut" was that the jagged edges remotely mirrored the mountains beyond.

By the time I had the shot composed I was less confident that scene had anything to offer as a photograph.
Nonetheless, cold, fed up and ready for home and some warmth I though what the hell and fired the shutter.

Anyway, this is a quick scan of the resulting negative:

EDIT: Replaced the original with a cropped version which is more balanced ( wood/ mountains) and imo works better.

Testing a 12/2004 Kodak T400CN 'Chromogenic Film' found in Fridge. I used my OM-1 + S-Zuiko Auto-Zoom 35-70mm f4 lens. I rated film at 200 ASA and home=processed in C41. Results were very 'Grainy' compared with Ilford XP2 400 Super C41 film -- maybe it needed longer 'Bleach' time ? I have 29 frames left to use up.
