Show us yer film shots then!

Tbh I've tried taking a camera with me on rides, and of course I have a crappy mob phone that I could use too but having rode and raced as a young man, I ride to ride like I did then if you know what I mean and typically stops are solely for refreshements.
The beautiful scenes remain in my head but not on a photograph......

But you probably know you could cycle over the same routes again and could use a camera as you would know the best scenery.....but surely if you cycled in say Norway you would take shots.

Same here, the only time I tend to take pictures is cycling in mallorca and on club runs when we are waiting to regroup.

I'm thinking a Rollei 35 SE might be good as they are so small so won't take up much space in the jersey pocket for the summer, it might make me take more pictures (but I doubt it).

If you want small then I'd recommend the minox 35 or the voigtlander Vito C like what I have. Very light. Folds itself so you can't scratch the lens or take shots of the inside of your pocket. I don't know whether they're smaller than the Rollei 35.

It's the stopping and faffing about that puts me off ........I spent a period of time before leaving the UK where I had a "touring" bike as against a road bike and to stop regularly, sit around, admire the views, take photos etc was part of the ride out.
Having returned to the type of riding that I prefer, it takes something very spectacular to make me want to stop and photograph it......it's a road cyclist thing Bri:D
If I purposely picked up a bike for " touring around ( straight bars, panniers, granny gears, etc ) then yes I would probably benefit with my photography, indeed I could carry LF gear if I wanted.
The thing is, would I have the discipline to get on that bike for a slow, stop and start ride instead of the road bike where I could blast up the hills and get the buzz that it gives me......something tells me no:(

Thanks Suz, I'll take a look at those cameras later on.

Ah it might all change when you are older ;) when I cycle I have to stop frequently to get my breath back and is a good time to take shots.

You're spot on there Ash, it's the stopping... there's just a need to keep on going even after a double take at passing scenery.

I don't think that I have ever stopped at a cafe when riding solo.

Well guys I don't get it..what's the rush unless in a road race.

You sure are getting use out of that F70 Nige(y)

It's probably wondering how long it can keep up with the pace, afterall it had a lazy / couch potato time with me:D

Yeah. Thanks (y). It's very nice to use once you get the hang of Vader's control panel. :) My OM-1 is out being CLA'd at present too, so it's the only film SLR I have to hand at the moment.

Because we can:D

Like I said, it's a road cycling thing.....if you've rode at competition level, the tactics and the drive to ride in the same manner doesn't leave a lot of riders, me included........age, doesn't go in ones favour though:confused::(

I suspect it won't be too long before I'll be tootling around on a bike with a camera and stopping every 50 yards to take a photo, or more likely to catch my breath and recover:D

Peaky blinders being filmed this year....anyone confused? They wear those sort of caps

Funnily enough Brian we saw them filming that very programme on Formby beach yesterday. I was told off by a copper for taking photos of them, i told him I could take photos of anything I want within reason and carried on snapping. The CMS hauled me away before I got arrested.

First time I've felt motivated for a little while.

Olympus 35 SP
T-Max 400

Nice set, Simon. Interestingly that window ventilator on shot 2 has a moire effect with my monitor as I scroll it up and down; appears the shutters are moving! I very much like no 1, nice rich tones, but no 3 is also an interesting shot, lots of lovely lines!

I went back to the Mountnessing Post Mill just outside Brentwood ( Essex) -- it's been 'Done to Death' by all local Camera Club members but I used up some 2002 Fuji RMS film on it -- I used a Velbon Tripod I had been given as i stopped down to f22 , but the background is still 'Soft' . Lens was the 80mm f2.8 CFE Planar T* and I used an A16 film back.

Thanks Chris.

That odd. I'm not getting that effect.

And me, just when you scroll up and down, weird but really interesting. Oh and an excellent set as well Simon, your usual mix of eclectic and different views. (y)
