Tenby Sunrise by Scott, on Flickr

I've just spent sometime going trough my grand parents slides and there were several sets from Tenby/Saudersfoot and the surrounding area from 1963 the amazing thing is it really hasn't changed much to this day! Once I have my scanner I will post a thread with some of the images

Peter,

It would help if you numbered your photographs.however #3 is just a wonderful capture of a wonderful face.

Great photos as always RJ, I always like the window photos you take in places you visit

Thanks, Carl. I didn't even realise that I had a penchant for window shots. I might need to start shaking things up a bit; I'm settling into a pattern, it seems. ;)

A few photographs from various spots around New England in the United States.

what a lovely set, thank you for posting them, the 3 chairs really appeals for some reason i cant quite pin down. very pleasing to look at this morning before getting back to work

I think you will find it is actually 49 shades of grey....:D

OK Brian ( @excalibur2 ) I've had another go at this and I can see what you mean, it was very green indeed. :D

Excellent......suits the shot now IF the sun was lower in the sky.....but we are very polite here to speak out and it can't be just me as quite a few shots posted have casts, maybe I see them more after doing colour printing in the darkroom for years :(

Thanks Brian, yes the Sun was low, about 20.00hrs. I think most of the casts are on my photos :D

Im not just colour blind..... I'm colour stoopid as well.

To be fair Brian, I reckon you spot the colour casts more than Andy because you're not colour blind like he is ;0)

It must be a bloody nuisance being colour blind, but I suppose shots posted are how that poster wants his\her shot to look, so who am I to comment...but some shots are so way out and do look much better corrected.....h'mm well to me o_O:exit:

Hey Andy, I think there's still a particularly strong cast in this, particularly magenta. I added blue and green using the colour balance tool in Lightroom to get the image below (as well as boosted exposure by a stop to the overall image and then used a graduated filter to hold back the sky by 1/3 of a stop). I think it's getting closer, although I'm not a colour balancing expert myself, which is why I tend to outsource my own colour scanning.

There is a definite cast to both of these, maybe a bit too much blue RJ, but if I were pushed I'd say I prefer @Andysnap, it's a little warmer which I think suits the shot better.

LOL, magenta, I wonder what that is.

Seriously though, thanks guys for going to the trouble of doing this, I really do struggle to spot these casts and they always look better after your inputs. I shall follow your suggestions above as I really like this image and want to get it printed.

Cheers
Andy

H'mm to me, looks like an auto digi shot with no overall "atmosphere".
Andy will have to go back and and take an early morning shot with a very slight mist as I think that would look great also.

Remember Brian that RJ is working with a very low resolution file and has just done a quick adjust to this, also flickr does not help with the image quality.

Love the 1st one Neil. The 2nd has a bit of a bright halo around the boat and a bit too much grain in the hills for my tastes, excellent composition though.

If you are having a large print done it's a difficult choice for how you want it to look....if it's going to be hung on the wall maybe the choice should be up to mrs Andysnap ;)

No, the choice is not up to The CMS... is that ok dear?

I will probably get a few different prints done and choose my favourite.
