Thanks RJ! All of those Grand Canyon shots were taken on film. In fact, have a few on the PC I never got around to uploading.

Lovely portrait shot too. I've noticed that about the Bronica as well. I have the ETRS and I find the 75mm really can't get right in on the subject like you mentioned. I moved onto a FE2 these days but should take the Bronica out for a whirl some day again!
 
Found this derelict close to where I live and thought it would be good in B+W. Oly OM-10 with 28mm f2.8 on Neopan 400
 
Liking that, just enough movement in the water and the muted colour reflect (I assume) a fairly dreich day.
 
One that's been sat on my hard drive waiting for some time to process it. Wasn't really sure about it but the yellow evening light on the buildings evokes a kind of 70's vibe :D
The haze has robbed some of the mids so I pulled them back a tad in Lightroom and the amount of detail in them is comical.

Fuji Provia 100F through the Fuji GW690, probably about 1/15s at f8 braced against a wall. Slightly cropped to remove a vignette caused by shooting through a gap in the glass wall.


 
Just to show the edge sharpness of the Fuji 90mm lens, here's a 100% crop from the bottom right corner, can see the taxi's, headlights and a person crossing the road.



Hardly a scientific test but I'd say that it's without doubt, the sharpest lens I've ever used.

I really like the wine bottle image but the date stamp on the box in the bag jars slightly, it takes away the almost timeless quality of the rest of the image. Hide that and turn the wine bottle so we could see the front label and you'd have an image that could have been taken almost any time from the 1940s to the present. I appreciate that it's most likely a found scene though, not something you'd want to start posing. :)
 
Those are really impressive David. I associate pinholes with rather blurry images, but those are much sharper than I'd have expected. I guess that comes from the size of the negative. I think I like the second one best!

Thanks, I'm sure that having a 4x5 neg helps. There is an optimal pinhole diameter for any given format and focal length and getting this right makes a big difference.
 
I wanted to try a different fixer so I shot a roll around the yard yesterday.

I hope I didn't get these to large. I won't know until I put them up I guess.

Thanks Andy. They look pretty bad right now but its so cold I don't want them to have a hair cut. At about 5:00 AM March first it was 8 below Zero f and its supposed to be like that until Thursday when they say it will start warming up. This winter has been hell.
 
Looks like you've had the cold and the snow and we've had the wet and the wind....:eek:

Ron I really excellent set of images. I really like the the range of tones you have achieved and the the subject matter is great too! I'm interested in your fixer experiments. I am a creature of habit and have used Ilford Ilfofix for years, what is the new fixer you are trying?

Thank you very much for the kind words Adrian. Did you click on the images to bring them up in SmugMug? I think it shows them better.

I have been using Arista Premium odorless fixer from freestyle. T-max and TRI-X always have a little color cast that has to be taken care of to look right. I was told about Photography formularys TF-4. They said it removed the color cast and even got cleaner, sharper images. I figured it was worth a try. I didn't expect it to work as well as it did. I'm sold. The directions say not to use any stop bath. The directions say to increase the 3 to 4 minute fixing time with 30 sec. agitations per minute by 50% if you wish to remove stains. I fixed for 8 minutes (100%). First time with no color cast when processing. If the next time works out this well I won't look any further.

If you use it, make sure you shake it up well. It settles out.

Hope I'm not boring people.

I did a distilled 20*C 5 minute pre-soak, then Xtol for 7 min @ 20*C agitated for 1 minute then 10 seconds every minute in 20*C distilled, Fixer for 8 min agitated for 1 minute then 10 sec every minute, rinsed in running luke warm water for 12 minutes then 30 seconds of wetting agent.

I am far from the final word.... People have different results all the time from seemingly the same methods so this is just my experience.

I'm not usually this long winded.

It's PANCAKE DAY !! here is a shot taken in the Ironbridge Gorge ( Blists Hill Victorian Town) when we went there a couple of years ago staying in the Coalport Youth Hostel -- Hasselblad 501CM + 80mm f2.8 CFE PLanar, Ilford XP2 Super 400 rated 250 ASA, Sunpak flash.

I don't know if this would be of interest to any here or not. I should re-scan it with my Nikon to get more detail out of it.

I took this out my bedroom window 5 or 6 years ago. We have a flock that varies from 19 to 21 that hits under our bird feeders every day from early spring to late fall every year. In the spring the toms can only think about breeding while the hens totally ignore them.

They can be a real pain in the arse. Anyway I looked out the bedroom window and the 2 Toms were displaying for the girls. I had my EOS 3 with the 70 - 200 IS L setting there so I shot a few.

I love pictures of old machinery. Sad to see them a lifetime later in decay.

I still have 30 to 40 rolls left in the fridge and use it like the poundland stuff :).
 
Thats an exceptionally nice shot Rob. I really must do some more still life, I used to do quite a lot digitally but so far my film attempts have been generally pretty poor.
