Show us yer film shots then!

Pete, many thanks for this, it is always very helpful to get a users view of a piece of equipment.Your distillery shot looks excellent to me and at full aperture and hand held too! I really like the 80mm planar and have always been very pleased with it's output. I know Hasselblad produced the FLE version to tackle concerns about sharpness on the 50 mm but these lenses are quite an expense.

I make do with the 50mm C T* myself which seems fine to me, but I don't do much architectural stuff and rarely use it hand held. It's my most used lens by a long way. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if all of my Hasselblad shots in this thread were taken with it.

And here's another one...
Hasselblad 501C, Distagon 50mm, Fuji Acros 100

Roger, I had noticed that the Distagon seemed to be your Hasselblad lens of choice and you have produced some very nice images too! After all my pondering I might just try and get a cheap well used C T* and give it a try!

Nice dark moody sky and seascape by the way!

Thanks! Mine was a pretty beat up example, not in great condition cosmetically but seems to be fine optically, which is all that matters as far as I'm concerned.

I had a roll of Agfa Vista Plus developed/scanned at Asda today from my trip over to the Liverpool Chinese New Year yesterday. I shot this on my Canon EOS30 with Tamron 19-35 and am pretty happy with the results. The scan resolution isn't great but it's handy as a £1 contact sheet so I can then re-scan any keepers on my V500. Saying that though, getting the colour balance right is harder than it looks!

1) The waiting crowd - I deliberately shot into the sun to see how the lens deals with flare, not too bad actually although I've converted to B&W because the contrast of the colour image took a hit

As a comparison, I've just scanned one of the negatives on the V500. As well as the resolution hike, there's also an associated improvement in noise and sharpening 'jaggies' although it's harder getting the colour right!

All in all I'm happy with the results but I do miss 120 shooting so I've just sold the Tamron lens so I can put it towards an MF system instead :0)

Cheers

No. 2 for me as well. The composition and depth of field is just fantastic.

I thought I would add an ancient shot I took on my pocket Olympus XA Of my then new born Grand daughter in the ward.
I was just testing out My old Minolta dual scan 2 with the updated vuescan software for windows 7 ....It worked a treat.
It was shot by available light fully open at f2.8 on Kodak Gold 400.

She is now coming up 16.

Pete, the more I see your images the sharper that Distagon looks! A very eclectic set.

Dave, a very strong and engaging set of monochromes, they are all excellent in my view with the first two being quite stunning! As Andy says some detail about the camera, lenses and film would be excellent!

I've been pleasantly surprised with Poundland film myself. Love the shot of your other half.

Great shots, Dave. No 1 for me I think, but like them all.

Had my first disaster with E6 developing last night. Such an elementary error, too. I put the spiral in the tank the wrong way up. That meant that the reel was half an inch off the bottom of the tank. Some of the developer got to the top of the reel with agitation, but it's uneven. So all of the transparencies have banding down the right hand edge where the developer didn't quite reach.

Anyway, this is one I salvaged by cropping.

They've come out really well Charlotte, very nice, particularly the 2nd one, simple but interesting.

I'm quite pleased with them considering I barely knew the front from the back of the camera at that time - let alone how to shoot film!

I bet I couldn't do as well now if I tried!

A lot of wonderful images here. I enjoy looking at them.

Me likes very much ....perhaps a slight crop off the rhs would improve the composition but the simplicity of the scene is ace!
Crop! Are you mad? I'd be chuffed with that shot and don't think I'd do anything to it, well done Charlotte

Yep me's mad :p:D and tired  but I'd still take just a tad off the RHS of the frame ...saying that, i'll probably look at it differently in the morning, high on caffeine :coffee: and agree with you ;)

This thread in 2014 just gets stronger and stronger, some really stunning film work and we are only just into February!
