A few from a roll of Ilford Pan 400 semi stand in Rodinal for one hour. These are the best of a bad bunch and the only ones without horrible streaks and marks on them! I think I was on at least 800 with these:

Even with my amateur at best developing (which I hope will improve with lots of practice), I do like these shots!

Unfortunately not. It's easy to reshoot though I go there all the time!
 
Bloody hell it's late :lol: Anyway, a few more from me and for once in my short time home developing I am reasonably happy! These were taken on my Trip using Tmax 400 developed in Rodinal 1+50 for ten minutes. After a couple of disaster developments I found a recommendation online that called for one gentle inversion every minute and it seems to have worked quite well!

Were they underexposed? It might just be the effect of the Rodinal, but T-Max should have far less grain. I'd be interested to see if they were that grainy in the darkroom.

These are straight scans. It was far too late once I had finished scanning to open Lightroom! I'm hoping the grain is just the result of the rodinal as you have mentioned. I have ddx but while I am still learning home dev I don't want to risk wasting it as it is quite a lot more expensive than rodinal!

I didn't get round to answering in your other thread - but I've tried DD-X with T-Max before and the results were, frankly, a bit lacklustre. That was with standard recommended times; I'm sure the results could probably be improved a bit with a change of the ISO the roll was shot with, and changes in developing time/technique, but I wasn't prepared to since I had access to other developers. YMMV.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll stick to rodinal for the time being! I have got some tmax in 100 that I am itching to shoot so that may be next.

First roll through my new to me F100. Taken using a very cheap early Nikkor 28-80 AF-D. Agfa Vista (dev'd by Asda this lunchtime)converted to mono. One to add to my 'Rule Breakers' collection.

Very pleased with the F100 and my first try at Nikon AF.

Very good conversion Adrian and that Nikkor 28-80mm is one of the very few Nikon sleepers.

Thanks Richard. It was a simple conversion assisted by a reasonably good original neg I think. I am very pleased with the 28-80mm AF-D Nikkor. It is the only AF Nikkor I own, it cost less than £30! Although the build quality is nowhere near that of the AIS lenses this shot was taken with the lens at the wide end and I think suggests this is pretty good glass.

That's a cracking shot, so sharp and lovely. Shame the swans got a little over exposed.

What's an action sampler?
 
That's an interesting set of shots, I assume an Action Sampler is something from the Lomo stable?
 
I think it might have been adopted by Lomo but I believe it pre-dates them but don't hold me to that. Mine was a cheap copy from ebay for about a fiver delivered. The standard lomo one is four square arrangement but I really liked the shots I'd seen with the one silly wide frame.

I have had the camera at least 10 years and am ashamed to admit that this is the first time I have put a film through it.

I am generally pleased with the results and will use the camera again but next time with a better film. This particular batch of Agfa Poundshop films that I have used have a distinctly '70's Truprint feel to them.

Tbh I quite like the " 70's Truprint" feel.....kinda romantic or should that be nostalgic :D

I'm hoping to try out some colour film as one of my projects for 2013 ......may even give home colour deving a go too!

Was in the RCC a month or so ago looking at a lens and asked the young man if they had any fast B&W film. He sold me two rolls of Acupan 800 expiration date April 1999! Needless to say I did not use it for what I needed it for. Anyway, ran it through my L35AF over Christmas for a laugh and devved it in Rodinal for an hour. Most of the roll is pictures of my niece but this was the last frame just before it went in the tank:

Definitely expired :lol: Also, a massive pain in the arse to get on the reel. Curly doesn't even enter into it!
 
I'm really enjoying my 'new' Nikon F-801. The big, bright viewfinder makes using my manual focus Samyang 85mm f/1.4 lens so much more enjoyable compared to my digital cameras!

I think I'm also finally getting to grips with this scanning business...

David, I really like these shots. I do like these boatscapes. I must get to the East Coast beaches more in 2013! I know what you mean about Truprint. I have shot a lot of Vista in the last few months and all have been developed and scanned by Asda, although two different stores in different counties! I have noticed a marked difference in the quality of developing at different times. I wonder if you get the Tru print effect when the chemical in the machine is nearing time for replenishment. I have also had a few rolls developed in a much more specialist pro lab. These have been excellent, although some of the Asda processed films have been as good.

I wonder whether others experiences of supermarket D&P is similar?

That is an excellent portrait in my view, great exposure and DoF. You say you have got to grips with scanning, can I ask about the technique you are using. I am about to start using my newly acquired V500 and advice is very welcome!

Many thanks, Adrian, and congrats on the new V500.

With regard to scanning, it took me a lot of work and fiddling to get the exposure and colours that I wanted.

Initially, I wasn't having any success with the Silverfast software included with my scanner, the Plustek Opticfilm 7400. Ultimately, after using the trial versions of a few different pieces of software, I have found that the combination of Vuescan and Colorperfect, a photoshop plugin, offer me the best and most reliable results.

I start with a raw scan in Vuescan (other software offer this feature as well), which scans the negative simply as it is, and then use the Colorperfect plugin in photoshop to flip it into a positive. There are a bunch of different film profiles in Colorperfect and their selection far outclasses the available film profiles in other scanning software in both number and colour reproduction.

After this I import the photo into my Aperture 3 library and do any minor tweaking as necessary.

I have found that this works for me, but it certainly is far from the only way to do it.

Thanks. I went through the big players and came out with hp5+. It is reliable and whilst not the most interesting film it does give good images.
