Well done for getting good results at the cheapest price...that's part of my hobby :)

It's not a bad little compact as well! Not on the same league as the Trip but certainly useable. Now if only he L35AF would turn up that I ordered last week I will finally have a nice little trio of compacts.

Wow. This is impressive.
I love the way that the instrument is in focus & the lights in the framing the shot are effective.

2 quid!!! That's a bit extravagant :D. Mine cost nothing (used to belong to my grandparents) but they do seem to pop up for pennies quite often.

I like no 3; fly posters have always been a favourite for me. But is there something strange about the colours? The sky in the first couple, and the phone box and bus in the last, all strong "memory colours", look wrong. I'm guessing you're having the same kind of problem I had with colour cast correction from the negatives? What software are you using?
 
Testing out my new 75mm lens on the 645. Acros 100 with Rodinal 1+50. James was mid-peekaboo bout at the time!

Thanks for the comment. I see what you mean re: the colours. I think for a couple I applied the colour correction in the Epson scan software. I think from now on I will just scan them straight then correct in LR of needed.

Can I play (post process) with your last posted pics, and re-post them ?

I cant see where the tag is that say's whether a member has consented to this ? I know it's an option in your settings :thumbs:

The tag is below the Location, Posts and Camera information underneath someone's username. Three icons, the middle one with Edit and either a tick or a cross underneath.

So for example, Woodsy has consented to edits, but I have opted out.

By all means have a play chap :)

Bare in mind though that I edited (once scanned) these to look like how I saw them at the time coupled with the characteristic rendering of the film itself. I appreciate that there could be more contrast as well as other things. Acros is my go-to film for punchy contrasty shots :) By all means have a play though.
 
OK forum is now not pink :)

I've done some very minor tweeks, trying to get the whites a bit whiter, and the blacks a bit darker. and a touch of sharpening.

I'd be interested in crit for my tweeking, as well as comments from woodsy

Too much ? or OK ?

I must also add, that these images interested me enough to look at them more closely :thumbs:

Very nice shots....but IMO why not have two cameras at the time:- one for B/W and one for colour, also the 2nd camera can be a backup..............

That said a very good set of produced shots indeed and with you just getting back into film, I cannot wait to see your or Woodsy better stuff once your muscles are lubricated and ready to go, but hold on lets wait for Woodsy:):D

Love the colours in that first one Adam. I should really pick up some superia again - last time I used it was while I was still getting my head around the process for scanning and working on scans of film.
 
I finally got round to home developing nearly two years worth of B+W films :D

Just a couple of examples both taken in my usual testing/stamping ground of Ashton Gardens in sunny/windy St. Annes On Sea.

This one was from one of the first rolls I put through a Zeiss Ikon Nettar 6x9 I bought last year. I'm very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the images.

This is from the first roll I put through my Holga-120WPC after I had added a filter holder. Some idiot didn't think he needed to remind himself of the correct frame number setting :bonk: so it's with the 6x12 mask but set to 6x9.

Most of the roll was useless but I think this one really works.

Ive found in normal sunshine the results from superia I've had have been quite neutral and accurate (a bit lacking anything I'd call character), but I really like the colours it gives in late evening light (baring in mind I have virtually no experience with film). Given how much I've enjoyed it, I think for the next batch of film I get Ill pay a but more and get some B&W and some nicer colour negative.

Well, it has to be said, I like the edits. Of course I do - They are more punchy, contrasty and sharper (which, in my defense, is a failing on photobucket's part. I really must use someone else as they clearly are shi... nvm).

My issue though, is not that you've done a bad job editing them, not at all. Rather that they now look nothing like what the film characteristically produces. CHS25 is not a punchy film, not is it particularly known for it's 'in your face' contrast. It's known for smooth tones and a kind of under rated look.

I am slowly trickling the shots onto flickr where you can see the Trebarwith Strand shot shown as it should be. I suppose then, that my point is fairly moot as I'm arguing that the shots are edited as (I believe) they should be, and yet photobucket are screwing that all up, knowing full well that you have only the screwed up versions to go buy.... :thinking: :D :cuckoo:

After finding that Agfa colour film had replaced the cheap Kodak as Poundland's film of choice I decided to stock up :lol: These are from the test roll I put through my bargain Praktica MTL5B. As mentioned in the new toy thread, the Carl Zeiss 50mm that came with it has sticky aperture blades so I stuck the Helios 44mm from my beat up old Zenit on there.

All I can say is WTF!! On the Zenit I thought this lens was a bit of a dog but I am loving it on the Praktica! Enough waffling, here are the shots:

All scanned at 3200 on the v500 and uploaded straight to Flickr. I resisted PP on these as I wanted to show the results from the film.

I like just about everything you have on there.

There was just something about this set you posted here, that looked a bit 'grey' to me. Agreed, the couple you have on flickr do look better.

Shot a quick roll of B&W (ancient FP4+) through latest buy. Oh the lovely smell of fixer in the afternoon ;) - Liked this one best and did a scan of neg, printing will have to wait until weekend.

The XA is now in better shape than when delivered, new light seals, cleaned viewfinder and adjusted exposure indication meter.
 
erm so many posts.........but typical Etrs (120) shots being sharp and with pop....a biggun will beat a littlun (like for like).
