That's exactly my dilemma - and bearing in mind, the A1's not much noiser then the Electro(at least until it starts coughing :lol:) AND i've faster glass on the SLR, it's going to be a bit of a special-occasions queen I'm afraid.

it's a bit wibbly-wobbly. I usually strip the film from the paper, then at the far end where it's taped onto the paper, remove the tape carefully, and fold it over the film - so theres 1 layer of film and 2 thicknesses of tape. I use this end to go into the reel - it seems to feed in a little better, being a tad more rigid.

Other thing at this time of the year is making sure your hands aren't sweaty or in any way moist before starting - especially in a changing bag. I've been known to use one of those alcohol-based gel hand sanitisers to dry and cool them - as i've got a big sweaty set of meat-hooks at the best of times :lol:

It went in fine, it just kept getting gummed up. It was the humidity last night, combined with me sweating in the end. I am dreading developing the second roll I loaded last night, its going to be a mess!

Are the dark tent things from calumet any better in these situations?
 
I find snipping 45 degree angles into the leading edge to be more effective than anything else.

Even just a tiny removal of a triangle of film snipped off does the trick. Recommend trying it!
 
Very odd. But try it - I remember quite recently, I forgot to do it thinking it would be okay, and the film just wouldn't load (first time in about 30 rolls that I'd had that problem). Two quick snips on the leading edge - film was on in seconds.
 
Sometimes the front corners can get kinked on the ball bearings, so if that happens as Freecom2 suggests, take the corners off ad it goes in easier

Never had any bad experiences with Acros though, I found Fomapan 100 to be a pain in the 'arris. Kodak T-Max in 35mm wasnt much fun either
 
I do have one more roll to load up. Cutting should not be a problem as I do separate out from the backing fully before loading. I will give it a go. I do it for my 35mm as par for the course.
 
Seems like our experiences all vary quite a bit - I've found T-Max in 35mm fine, Fomapan 100 was a little bit difficult but those sorts of emulsions do tend to be a bit of a pain anyway (which is why I haven't shot a roll of them in ages).
 
I gave up on Fomapan because it didn't inspire me any more, i think Jim got my last roll of Fomapan :) It had it's appeals but not for the sort of stuff I like to shoot now, where clean and smooth is the order of the day. If i was shooting street I would probably use Fomapan 100 and Tri-X, now im more drawn towards Acros and Adox 25
 
Got my first roll back shot with my Pentax MX & 50/1.7 lens - Quite like this camera (ultra light & compact) and it seemed in good condition and cost less than half what I paid for the Nikon FM2

Need to get shooting again, exams are over. Have some film to get through, think i'll try this roll of Pan 100 then perhaps attempt to do something with this Kodak poundland film i picked up. Anyone had any experience with the Tetenal kits? I guess i could attempt to control temperature just by topping up with hot water, see how that goes...
 
A shot of a ford..well you all might say "SO WHAT"? well what's amusing is the drivers who hit the water at such a speed and their number plates are ripped off.

Wild Heron that is tame near the boat, the boat people have been feeding it for 15 years and its name is Harry, I called his name and he turned his head....I see him many times away from the boat and next time (I see him away from the boat) I'll call his name and see if he will come to me for some chicken.

They'll eat anything that they can catch and swallow IIRC - fish, insects, smaller amphibians even baby birds... no faddy diets for them ;)

Which I am quite pleased with! Looks better in real life. Ironically, the camera and film captured far more detail than my crappy scanner could.
 
Something different.... some scanned 6X4" prints (the negs have slipped out somewhere) and are heavily sharpened in PS.
Soldiers inside Warwick castle and the only human in the shots is my father. Taken about 16 years ago and the camera was either a SL66 or ETRs.

First post in this thread for ages! As always, the standard is superb :thumbs: I just bought a V500 and had a couple of films processed today to test the scanner. I am pleased :D

This was taken with a Pentax Zoom 70 that I picked up from the car boot for a quid. Shot on Poundland test roll special!

Rocket blower and a microfiber cloth. Nice scanning results by the way. I think Epson have the flatbed quality win with their current range!

Thank you for the speedy reply and tips :thumbs: Will invest in the items as I will be using the scanner a lot!

I was kind of knocked out with the scan quality to be honest. Only scanned these at 3200 for time saving purposes! Only a couple of dabs with the spot healing tool to remove some marks from the high street lab negs :lol:
