Show us yer film shots then!

With results that good, I might just be persuaded to drop Ektar and just use Portra..

Well the scanning software can take some of the credit. There were 4 or 5 different film profiles for Portra 400 so i just used the one that seemed to give the nicest colours :) Annoyingly there wasnt an exact profile for Ektar 100, just an entry for "Ektarchome plus" i think and that gave a very odd colour cast to my ektar photos. So im not entirely sure what to use for that one, i think its just down to tweaking sliders pre scan anyway to get the best results.

Were you using Vuescan? They really need to update the film profiles in the newest version as popular films such as Ektar 100 and the New Portra 160 and 400 are missing. The Ektar profile listed is for Ektar 25 from about 20 years ago which was the exact opposite in being quite muted rather than saturated.

They have the same profile issues in Silverfast still too... As far as I know, anyway! I always find it strange when people rate Ektar so highly; it's rare that I like the colours and every roll I've tried has managed to mess up in some way! Definitely a bigger fan of the new Portra than Ektar.

I was cleaning / organizing my hard drives and came accross this roll. These I shot one week after the death of Michael Jackson. Shot these with my ME SUPER, COSINA 24F/2.8, FUJI REALA 100.

This news stand is no longer there. Shame because it had been there since the 20's from what I understand.

Inside the Jewelry store. I got rebuked by the security guard and tried to make me delete the picture. Good luck with that one here and I was not about to give up my roll...It is amazing how a picture will bring back to memory great details of encounters...Pictures are priceless.

I put the rest of my roll here on my blog.

Nice work Javier, love the one inside the jewellery store.

Good to see you posting back on here javier, always a pleasure to see your photo's.

And that is one cracking shot Andy, great tones and very atmospheric.

Really like this Andy, well done.

A couple of instants from one of my recent forays into Large Format.

I'm stuck on using Polaroid/Fuji Instant Film at the moment, partly to test that the cameras/lens are functioning correctly and largely through dread of wresting with holders and film sheets in a changing bag

Shot at Arc Studios Preston Film Club.

Thank you Paul :)

Here are a few more that I took to use in a university project: Shot with my Pentax 6x7 and on Portra 400 again.

I haven't eve been tempted to use another film apart from the new Portra 400 since I first used a roll, it seems to do everything I need it to and more!

The shots on this thread are always amazing, but something like this just blows me away. I'm not sure how I missed it when it was first posted, but wow, just wow.

This is the second shot with the new Portra 400 on this thread that's got me questioning whether I'll be ordering much Ektar in the future.

Something pretty, a splash of colour...I was going to put it in the contest but I'll bore you in this thread instead.

Just got myself a scanner (Epson V500) this week, so I was able to scan a few b&w shots from the last couple of years.

Here are three taken on Kodak BW400CN (C41 process):

It's funny really, I used to get paranoid about grain in my digital photos (hence the decision to buy a D700 :|), but when it's really unavoidable (like the indoor shot of the couple here), I actually quite like it :bonk:!

I've just had my first films through my Mamiya 1000TL and Mamiya ZE-X developed so here's one from each, 1000TL first. Maybe I'll show you some more Mamiya 35mm shots, and then some MF stuff:

I like the sharpness of the in focus dew drops on the leaf in the foreground and the wishy-washy bokeh:

and from the ZE-X on a murky, misty morning

I keep finding more from the summer that I've either not yet scanned, or in this case scanned but not uploaded..

Yashica D, Fuji Pro400H (I think) with some assistance from Lightroom post-scan.

Nice. Yes, more Mamiya please! I bought a Rank Mamiya recently but haven't tested it out yet. Unfortunately the lightmeter is dead and the shutter is sticky on the slower speeds...

Here's a shot from earlier in the year that I struggled with to scan at the time so I've revisited it. Taken on HP5 with my Bronica ETRSi, 40mm lens IIRC.

I love that. It could easily be a still from a 1970's police drama if it wasn't for how modern the car is. I actually like how soft it is I think it works well with the mist and the autumnal colours.
