Show us yer film shots then!

Some pics of a local walk near where I live taken on Provia 400X with a Seagull 4A TLR.

Some Fuji Pro 800Z, not a nice film at box speed, in fact bloody awful springs to mind! No shadow detail grainy and poor midtone and highlight definition. Up it to 400 and it's a lot happier and is very nice closer to 200.

Shots at 800 (easily sported!) through the Pentax Super A, at 400 through the Pentax ME (and most of the time it was showing over exposed but those turned out the nicest!)

Not sure if the Super A is suffering a light leak but theres a lot of unidentified purple weirdness going on.

Either you've had a bad roll or its been stored incorrectly, but I've used 800Z a few times at box speed and had no problems like that!

The grain was definitely not that bad the couple of times that I used it and I had no problems with shadow detail. Where did you get it developed and scanned?

They're all good shots, the last two being a different roll. All 6 rolls came from 7DS, 1 went straight in the Super A at box speed and the rest went in the freezer. About a week later roll 2 was defrosted and shoved in the then new to me ME and rated at 400 in order to check the seals. Roll 1 was nearly done so I took that with me too to finish off.

This was from Roll 1. Vivitar 19mm, In Shutter Priority from the Super A. Can't remember what aperture it set, probbably 11 or 16 given it's a mid day scene, sun behind me more or less, no filters, no hood.

Same settings maintained all day, that was the best of the bunch. Midtones all squished up hard against the left, and a steady distribution of highlights an a peak at the end.

Strangely it was better in low light at 800 (In the shade as per my first shot above) which was the same lens but with Hoya Pro 1 UV filter.

Wasn't just the first roll, the 2nd was being shot at 400 and for one shot I recall shooting a stop under, IE box speed, and that came out just the same when the 400 shots wither side were fine.

All processed at Genie again since they weren't especially important.

I've never got a shot that bad with it! It can be a little unpredictable though, think I've still got a few rolls in the fridge. I'll have a look at some of my shots now..

Edit:, Found these from my first test roll, cant find the others though!

I found it very acceptable!

I've only ever used 800z in a cheap re-useable underwater camera, I always just assumed that the quality was a bit iffy because of the camera. I have got a box in the freezer so I might take a roll out to try it in a proper camera.

Those two above were in the EF with a pretty accurate meter.

This one was on the rollei 35 so selenium cell

Looking at them I've not really had bad results with it, only when I've metered incorrectly then its gone tits up

What the heck ? by Street Vision L.A., on Flickr

When I saw these two fellas just sitting there, I knew I had to have this picture. So I went up to them, did not say a word and click...Only that I had to forgot to advance the film....I said ''awkward'', I advanced the film, took my shot, they gave me the ''What the heck'' look, I said thanks guys and was on my way....8~)

Shot with my ME-Super, M50F/1.4 @ F/11, With Ilford Delta 400...

Yet another shot of these dead trees if one isn't enough. The sun was finally starting to break through the fog. I have to get use to a rangefinder. I took at least one or two shots per roll with the lens cap on. And I'm not use to turning off a power switch either.

I got my package back of films from last year so have been re-scanning them. The original scans were done by small photo-stores out in China, but I think the equipment was old, and my Epson seems to do a better job. I know you may have seen these before, but thought i'd post the new scans anyway :P

Wow, that first one is stunning!

Looks like it was rescanned, but yes it is worth it. Lovely image, but if i had to nitpick i'd say the foreground is too dark, maybe some sort of graduated ND filter would have helped?

Thank you guys, great to hear you like it!

Superewza, I agree, the bottom left is very dark; although I used a cheap ND-grad on this shot, I should probably invest in a good set.

The detail may not be there in the negatives themselves, but have you tried to get more detail out of the dark areas in the bottom left of the first one? I think that would make it a fantastic shot - it's so close. If you scan losslessly you can get a lot of detail out of it.

Pushed the boat out recently and bought an F5 and a 35-70mm f2.8 afd, loaded with some Adox Chs100. First time using this film think I'll buy some more.

Tried a shoot with various films and cameras but probably inappropriate here so will post the rest in the glamour forum. When it came to mixing a new batch of chemicals from the Rollei C41 kit I opened last year, it seemed that part C had turned black. However a test roll seemed to give me images so I decided to use it and not throw it away.

....and all those over 21 have now gone over to the glamour forum to see some more :)

ah - i'd left it as private, when I took it out from the POTY competition last year... should be okay now...

Some really stunning shots here! I'll add this one:

Sunderland Boys Orphanage Fence by Michael B O'Brien, on Flickr

More a technical exercise, though. 1st time with colour neg through my 'new' RB67 and trying Epson Scan and also cropping to an inch of it's life, to see how it stands up. Film is Fuji Pro400H, dev at Peak, scanned on my 4490.
Limited DoF is proving to be interesting :)
The full scan is also on my flickr.

Very good. You're making me homesick, by the way.

Taken with my Rollei SL35E, planar 50mm and of course Fuji superia 200Asa.

Brilliant Javier. You do have a wealth of characters to shoot.
