Show us yer film shots then!

That is a nice Lambo there Konstantin

Looking good on the dev and scanner front Darren

I wish Mohain had not posted those images I had just about talked myself out of getting a 6x7 camera and now I want one again :bang: :D

Tell me about it - it's why the Yashica A is going out today instead of the CL :D

I know it's annoying to keep having the same photograph quote it but I feel that in this case it is justified. This to me is literally black and white perfection, I'd buy it and I'm sure others would too. It seems that that film and developer combination are born to be together!

This is from an old roll of Medium Format Fuficolor Reala 100, it has to have been exposed at least 8 or 10 years ago, I sold my Mamiya around then, in fact I don't think I even shot this roll myself. Ok well it's colour but it's cross processed in Rodinal 100:1 for 1 hr @ 20 degress C, one inversion at 30 mins, vinegar stop and some Ilford fixer. It's way too dark and green but it was really hit or miss.

Umm, is it me, or are threads from the Film and Conventional forum no longer showing up on the home page?

No, it's not you. Is it a problem?

Sorry to dilute this amazing thread but yeah, I generally browse from the home page and now it's not showing F&C - one of my most used forums. I will message a mod about it.

Personally, I'd rather it the way it is. That way we don;t get the rubber neckers and rentamob in here so often!

The home page is now only showing threads from the photo sharing and critique section of the forum. It's felt by the powers that be, that it may encourage people to actually share photo's and give a little more critique, rather than just talking about the hardware or buying and selling.

I think it could be a good thing, tbh.

It certainly should cut down on the people who reply to a thread without realising that the question was asked regarding a film camera problem from jumping in with 2 dijikal feet

Just a little snap of my daughter in the late afternoon sun taken on my Rolleiflex 3,5F with close up Rolleinar and Ektar 100:

BTW it was scanned on my V500

^ Really great colours considering it's Ektar! I have found it to be obnoxiously saturated, especially in skies. The colours here have come out fantastic though.

A couple of shots from the summer that I've not put online until now:

Plitvice National Park, Croatia
Olympus OM-2n + Velvia 50

Friend's Flat, looking at Polaroids and 5x4 prints (he has a hoard of about 25 boxes of unused Polaroid film in his fridge!!!)
Bronica ETRS + Astia 100F

Strange I find Ektar to be about 20% more saturated I have no trouble with skies or skin tones. I pick the film when I need a little more 'pop' without it looking over done.
Here is a typical shot taken with prewar Bessa:

Blues and reds are saturated with Ektar but in my experience not 'obnoxious'

Excellent shots Mr S. Love them all, really good.

Lovely shots Mr. Spaceman :)

Thanks everyone for all the comments on my Langdale Valley shot. I do believe the tones and detail are mostly down to the Developer, Prescysol. Never has such detailed negs before. Up until recently I've used Rodinal 1+100 stand or semi-stand but shall be using Prescysol whenever I can from now on :)

My first roll of film in almost 20 years, my first roll of 120 ever and the first outing of an Ensign Selfix 420 aquired from Fleabay a few months ago. Developed and scanned at a locally.

Ensign Selfix 420
1/150, f/16, Fujicolor Pro 160S

Shot 6x9 I had to stitch two scans of the negative together.. I'm not sure they come across such large negatives much these days. I definitely need to practice gauging distance better for focussing.

Maybe I'm too used to digital.. I'm certainly too used to applying a touch of post-processing, I'm not sure is this is the "done thing".. but I couldn't resist giving a boost to the vibrancy and contrast of the scan in Lightroom.

Click through on the images if you're interested..

Looking good Alastair, never used a 420 but I do have a 16-20 which is fantastic. Have you had a look at the Ensign group on flickrr, some nice shots from many different Ensigns.

Andy

Thanks Andy, I've had a look at the group.. not the most active but I'll give it a go! I think I can see a few of yours on the front page :D

No not the busiest, but some good shots and they seem a nice, helpful bunch. I do seem to post more than most as it happens.....:whistling:

Andy

Oh what a devilishly good shot Brian.

It's taken me about 3 months to fill up a film of 36 exposures, so here are a few from my first roll in 13 years! All taken on an AE-1 Program with 50mm 1.8 and a Superia 800.

Another cross processed shot... looks digitally edited but it isn't other than this is how the scanner sees it.....

Nice one Chris, looks imposing... have you tried to ... ahem, "tweak" the perspective? Not already, I mean just have you had a play at all...

No, I've not messed with it at all, It wants a good straightening really but I was trying to be a little more 'this is a film shot as shot'

Yes, I didn't mean had you messed with *this* one, but had you messed with it *at all*!

No I haven't messed with it at all but I'm about to give it a little push and pull to straighten it up.

I find it a good technique sometimes if your shot had to be taken to avoid something but you *really* wanted to be "over there" taking the pic... where "over there" might be in a pond, or your reflection may show in a window. You can usually pull the pic back around - at the loss of some resolution it's true - to something close to what you want. No different to sloping the enlarger base... :D

Truth be told I was just finishing a roll off before I went home. Just on the offchance anyone is interested, it's Ilford XP2 in Rodinal.

Same as Arthur said, there's nothing wrong with straghtening it in photos shop, you'd have done the same at the printing stage in a darkroom anyway (if you're into that sort of thing, I know some people don't give a stuff about converging verticals).
