Show us yer film shots then!

I know - thinking about it now, it's amazing how accurate the meter on my Fuji is and how forgiving the slide was. No filters either and handheld. Some careful dodging and burning was done to the foregrounds of all three to bring out the light in the snow.

Dont think ive posted these in here before, its been ages since ive been on and even longer since ive taken any pictures but trying to get back into it again, after buying a couple of cameras and only shooting about 5 rolls in total.

Ok, I've just finished a roll of film that was sat in my late Fathers Bessa R so I thought I'd pop a picture or two up, the film seems very grainy, but I have no idea how long the films been in the camera!

Also I've at least found out that the Rangefinder is waaaayy out so needs to get sorted properly as all the close up photographs I took were way out of focus!

This is my first picture I've put up on here so be kind ;)

I was stood waiting for the beat to start and this post looked great in the early morning sun.
 
Well, you can see why the snow's only on one side... not sure I like the idea of loud music in the countryside though :D

Actually, I do like the composition but I would maybe sneak in a little boost to the saturation if I were you, it looks a little washed out to me. I reckon you could easily bring the grass out of the snow a little and give the whole image a little more oomph. Oh, and maybe crop the bottom a little so you equalise things above and below the grass line? (Or at least make the distance from the bottom of the post to the bottom of the image the same as from the bottom of the post to the left side... but that's just me)

And more power to your elbow beating on a day like we've had recently, -5 here in Norfolk yesterday!

Thanks Arthur, I reckon the next thing I'm going to have to do is start using something like Photoshop to bring out the best of these photos,

It was the same temperature here this past weekend, -4 to -5 all day saturday, I'm just glad I was beating and not standing round like a wally waiting for the birds to be put up!

I know the second one was velvia, the other two im not so sure about, but astia or provia rings a bell. B&W one might be ilford FP4 at a guess but id need to get the slides out to check.
 
Coo - who done the developing - I really love the depth?
 
Sent them away to peak imaging for developing then scanned them at home with an epson v500

EDIT: Forgot to say these are medium format shot with either a hasselblad 500c/m or bronica etrsi

Ahem. Get in the queue...

My little Rollei seems to be just fine - more than I can say for this Chinese film though! I got half a dozen rolls left and I don't want to waste my time with it any more - the emulsion is crap, almost like it's peeling away from the film. Has a definite harshness to it and no good really at capturing detail. That all adds up to a poo description of an ISO100 film!

Here are some of the better ones just out, which only show how sharp this little lens is rather than how cruddy the film! Very pleased with the focus close to far - whilst realising the aperture was close to 22 on these :D

It has to be said that I do not spend all my time in cemeteries - but in the sunny snow they are great places for contrast.

I also need to comment on the next shot along in your Flickr photostream called Film shot no. 1. Now that is a really good b&w that ticks all the right boxes for me - lines, reflections, contrast, atmosphere - it's all there and then some :thumbs:

This next one, hard to describe. Somewhere in this phone box there's a great picture but no matter where I stand or how I compose or colour/bw I am struggling to find it. this the best so far, but still not sure I have what I want yet:(

Both pics from the Leica Mini then, on some real old Truprint! Developed with Fuji kit and chemicals and scanned on a Lexmark composite scanner. As mentioned before, the Leica seems to struggle with snow, and now that I have the F90X on the way I feel that it too, along with almost all of my other film cameras, will soon be for sale. Watch the classified section in a week or so perhaps.

Oh go on then, a couple of recent shots from the Mamiya RB67 (Ilford FP4) and a from the Yashica MII rangefinder (Kodak Portra 160VC).











 
Superb shots there mustanir and zeroseight.

Here's some random shots of London in the snow taken on the Fuji GA645i again. First three are Neopan 400, last three are Pan F+ 50. Developed together in Rodinal 1+50.

Neopan - it's fast, extremely fine grain and dev's brilliantly with Rodinal. Totally in love with the effect, so plan on buying lots more!

Hi folks..When you get a moment, check out my you tube vids. I also added some music to them as well.
These are only the ones I shot with film. I have not started on the digital ones yet. Give me some C.C.feed back and I appreciate the comments...I just uploaded them.. When it was all said and done, I shot 198 rolls of film in 2009...I have a few days left to reach 200 rolls, so I will try and see if my body will let me go out of the house as I have not been well...I suppose I could cheat and shoot a few around the house.... Javier, you are a film legend! Managing to go through that much film in a year is impressive. I've probably done around a third of that this year and I thought I was being excessive :)

Haven't been through all your shots yet, but I do love some of the rain shots in the utube vids. Excellent street shots!

Just a suggestion... try picking out your 30-50 favourite shots and making a section in your blog for them - this way any newcomers to your photos won't have to trawl through hundreds of photos to see the best ones. It's what I'm doing at the moment with my photos - over 100GB of 35mm and 120 high res scans to go through...
 
They're all real bw - easier and cheaper 'cos you can develop them at home!

I can honestly say all my shots in BnW are shot on real honest to goodness Black and White Film (well - okay, there might have been a couple on Ilford and Fuji Chromagenic stock) but none are colour shots processed to BnW. Mainly because of the reasons Ambermile said - i'm too tight to buy colour stock then convert. If I shoot on colour, It's because I want Colour. I can also turn the BnW around faster myself than sending the rolls of E6 away. :thinking: Though I'm toying with buying a Tetenal kit and doing the EG at home too.
