great work blinkerz, what film speed are you using? i think im going to use fuji 400h as my first roll, its cheaper to get processed and want my first roll done quicker to see how much i have to learn.

Two shots from the 2nd role of film run through my latest acquisition.

Time to put something up from my Deardorff,

this is on CHS100, f8 @ 8 seconds, 1:1 macro with slight levels adjustment

Cheers,

I'm well pleased with this set up, very nice lenses on a nice wooden camera that doesn't weigh a ton and folds up to a samllish box :D

Just got to find copal 3 lens board and a polaroid back (which seems nearly impossible) and my digi stuff is going on sale

Can't wait to do some LF colour stuff next week

That film looks nicely suited too.

No point in keeping the digi stuff if you aren't using, or interested in using it.
It can be handy to keep if it doesn't owe you any money, but it can be a big pile of cash just propping a door open.

I don't think I've seen your Deardorff...

My digi gear is worth about 2k second hand so its a huge chunk of cash I could save or spend doing something awesome. In the last couple of months I think I've taken about 10 real pictures on it, and then just pics of stuff for sale etc.

The Deardorff:

IMG_5897.jpg

Its got a 5x4 and a 5x7 back, huge belows extension, front and rear swings, front and rear tilts, no shift front or back, front rise and fall. Its pretty much all the camera I'll ever need, unless I try sports or birding or something like that :D

Currently got a 90mm 5.6, 210mm 5.6 and 360mm 6.8 (which is huge, 120mm ish front filter size )

360:

210 is on the deardorff in the pic above.

Still using the mamiyas and the leica though, but might look at selling the backup mamiya 6 in a while depending on usage

It is huge, I still can't get the scale, the Canon body could easily be a matchbox model...
Its a fine looking camera.
I won't be buying one till I get my darkroom built, which in the current climate could be a while :(
Gotta print em..

really good Joxby, loving the square format compositions as well

The dash makes it fit, I dunno why, it has a 70's look..."of the period"..:)

I agree,

one thing I'm noticing from a lot of peoples ektar is the sky is very cyan, not something I've seen in mine as its not been full blue skies when I've used it. Have to say I don't like it much though, prefer fuji blues

Its easy sometimes to take the scan as is.
I'm not used to buggering about with Velvia, it scans bang on with this scanner every time.
Those 3 b/w I posted last are actually Astia, but they scanned with loads of magenta, it was easier (for me) just to b/w them, I mean I had a 5 mins go with but they didn't look right.
I just can't muster any kind of interest in editing, I'd rather cut the grass or wash up, its just mind numbingly boring.
Its like having to learn the telephone directory to pass an English exam, you know you need it but damn, can't I do some ironing instead

This is a 2second mess around using a colour balance adjustment layer:

could maybe do with a bit more yellow, but literally no longer than 30seconds

yeah, its the skin tones that make them difficult, that brown uniform looks a shade green, but the skin tones are better, to be fair on you, I've already messed with them, you're not starting from a straight "too much magenta" scan, you're starting from a joxby colour histogram curve in scan cockup.
Its a re-scan job..:|

lol

What film was it? I've found neg a bit harder to scan than tranny, but 160s much easier than Ektar

It's been over 4 months since I've touched film... and discovered a lonely looking roll of Delta 400 which hadn't been dev'd yet - couldn't resist it, and here's the result.

I like those Javier, you should try some slow shutter speeds especially with the fisherman there would give some great effects!

There are some very inspiring images in this thread, I'm especially fond of the black and white images :D

This is my first roll of film using an Olympus Trip 35 from eBay. I wasn't happy with any of them if honest but this was the best of a poor batch.
