my very first home developed film. I've not got a scanner so I just photographed the neg in front of my monitor :D and inverted

Not the best quality but its a start. I found the digital stuff was getting boring and maybe a bit to easy so have jumped in on the MF stuff as a steep-ish learning curve.

OOOOPS Sorry Darren - not supposed to C&C here....removed

John,

I always appreciate C&C. All these images are posted with others in the relevant section and a few extras on FADU. In the first one there was a highlight on her hair but she moved a little on that image which is why some of it is highlighted but not all of it. I really liked it though which is why it has made it in anyway. I have that same image taken digitally but I wanted to post my film images. The main point of the whole shoot though was not that first image or any like it but the naked ones which I can't post in this thread but if you look in the nudes section they are there.

What happened to the bg on the first shot Darren?

This is pretty cool. Can you explain how you did this? I am very curious.
Thanks !

Hi Javier,
thanks for the comment. All I did was dev the neg and then tape it in front of my monitor on the white of the Google page and photograph with my digi camera. Then into PS and invert the image. Never going to be the best quality but until I can get a scanner that's the best I have got.
Cheers,
Mart

I tried out a roll of Rollei Retro 100 yesterday and then developed it in Rodinal. The shots are not great, neither were they intended to be, as I thought I had an overlapping frame problem on my Nikon FM2n and so fired off a very quick roll.

It turns out the reason for the first roll to be 'cocked up' was my bad loading of the film :bonk:

The film on the other hand is lovely.

Just thought I'd load up a massive crop. Taken with a Nikon 28mm F2.8.

Taken with my 1959 Christmas present just after I received it. A box brownie which I still have.

I'm confused, are we showing our pic's here or in the new forum or both (at the same time)?

Anyone?

Until this thread is closed the other section is unlikely to get momentum.

Thanks Alastair.

In that case here goes:

The new section is "for Comment and Critique" - so - and this is just my personal take on things, If i have something that I just want to share, but I'm not bothered about critique, then I'll stick it in "Show Us your..." but if I've got something that I'd like critique upon, then I'll stick it in the new section - perhaps with a single image taster of the for crit. thread and a link to it also cross posted into "Show Us..." just for the people in here who daren't venture outside into the Dijikal World for fear of Lions and Tigers and Bears

Seems to me that Mark has hit the wood fixing spike firmly on the noggin there. I do like to get critique on some of my stuff as I'm still very new to this fillum malarky and could do with some pointers but also I sometimes just want to share so they can pop up in this bit.
But, I would be obliged if some of you more senior (in experience not age :whistling:) chaps could pop over there and let me have it, critique that is.

Andy

You have the option of choosing "critique" as a prefix (or not) when posting a thread in the other section.

It seems counterproductive to maintain this thread and run the new section. The existance of this thread is only going to discourage people from visiting the new section.

Ah - but this thread's got tradition mate... the place reeks of it

That's the theory - but - unless it's in the former "Fluffy Kittens" section then it's up for critique... if it's got the Critique prefix, then it means that you have specifically posted it for critique and don't get arse-ey if people tell you it's crepe...

See Here for the word from Da Management

For what it's worth, my vote goes to keep this thread going :)

It's a nice , chilled out thread here, and I dont really go outside of this forum much.

These are from a roll of Tri-X that was pulled (@250) using a Nikon FM2n and a Nikkor 50mm F2:-

Interest 'old look'. See what you think:

Hi Brian,

Thanks for commenting. It was my first attempt at using Tri-X 400 @250. The grain is intentional as it was developed in Rodinal with a view to 'looking' for something a little different.

My feelings are that if you could have an old fella with a pipe, horse & cart in the first one it would fit well with that look.

Thanks

Al

Church gate 2 certainly has that old pipe abd horse look to it, more so than the first one for me.

On the thread topic... can a mod not just move it, it's a doddle with the right permissions.

what thread topic? Oh wait, you mean move this thread out there? Why? My stuff was posted here because it was posted here, not because it was going to be posted in the general forum later. The stuff I wanted posting in that place I actually *did* post in it.

There are certain photo's that I've posted in this thread that I certainly don't want to be up for critique. If I want to recieve critique, I'll post in the appropriate area - now that we actually have one thanks to people taking pictures on mobile phones

Not that I expect anyone to actually sit and dig their way through 3778 posts and critique a couple of thousand picture postings.

Anyway...

Back to the photos with: A Sheep.

Taken on expired Kodak Ultra using a Yashica Minister III a month or so ago.

I'm pretty sure some clever cropping will help the composition, but haven't worked out the ideal one yet.
