Lovely composition and tones, really like the white frame around it too.

Since I've seen a couple of people round these parts adding white frames, I've been doing it myself, and I'm really finding it makes a huge difference to some shots. I mean, there has to be a reason why framed photos have mattes, right?

I like the shot a lot and I think the frame enhances it. Very nice indeed.

A few I took last year just to check out a Mamiya C330 I'd bought. Provia 400, rated at 320 ISO. Metering was with a Lunasix 3 adapted for modern batteries.

Dev & scans were by Ag, but I wasn't overly impressed with the scans regarding the tonal extremities compared to the negs. So with cost in mind, the next step has to be a scanner that can do mf, so I can be in control ... I'd really like a film scanner, but on my budget it'll have to be a flatbed with a light hood.

The camera was hand-held (compromising sharpness). Mono conversions were done in Photoshop, just using channel mixer & curves layers.

I really like this set. Very abstract and please.
 
I scanned a 10x8" print found in my files, never shown before, taken on a trip to Austria with family some years ago -- i cannot remember NAME of the town. It was Pentax ME Super + 17mm f3.5 Vivitar and the older Ilford XP1 film. It is a mirror on a parked Motor-Cycle.

On a printed page the photo surround can come from the page layout. On a web page you may have less control, so having a border is a choice to make. For wall hanging, a border or mount as well as a frame may help to define a picture, especially in visually busy surroundings. For an uncluttered gallery setting the choice is maybe freer, & the photo can more readily run to the edge, if mounted say on foamboard ... though if a traditional frame's used then it's probably desirable to have a mount so that the picture edge isn't crowded by the frame.
 
Some shots from my F5 which I have neglected to use since going all out "medium format".Not used to getting 36 shots in one lump so it took quite a few days to finish the film. It's Ilford Delta 100 and I used the epson v750 as a test to see how it compared to my dedicated minolta scanner. (quite well, but a bit poor vs the nikon i used to borrow)

Very nice, bet that V10 soundtrack was still ringing in the ears.

Gave lightbox dslr scanning a go to see how it compares to using my epson V750 and minolta SDIII. Provided the camera and lightbox are perfectly parallel it's pretty good. I used one of my durst AN glass holders for my m670 enlarger to keep the film flat.

This was taken using my F5 and tamron SP 180mm f2.5 on fuji neopan 400.

Going through my old shots for the current challenge I came across this one and it reminded me that I'm always in the wrong place at the right time for a lovely sunset.
Lovely sunset and I'm stuck in my front garden and what's worse I only had a Nikkor 50mm lens....but I suppose I could have put a 24\28mm and use a different camera, but thought the shot would still be crappy with telegraph poles etc

I know this isn't a criticism thread Steve, but this one works much better for me with a much heavier crop. I really like the lights on the eaves, but they rather get lost in this composition.

You're absolutely right Keith it would look much better if it was tighter, I just don't like throwing away all that precious silver and I was travelling light (with an RB...) so didn't have anything longer with me. Besides its not a bad sky! :D

Ta, thought it looked familiar but I can't remember going to Caister so it's probably some other boozer I'm thinking of. There have been sooo many.
 
Cheers Simon, I gave it ten minutes. I've not pushed Delta 400 before, and it's a little grainier than I'd normally like (I don't like grain much), but a little noise reduction in Lightroom has helped
