What no one has asked you is who is the wonderful subject, she(not knowing her name) just illuminates your photograph to something special. Congrats to you both particularly the model. (y)

I was tempted to ask, but I have an extremely inappropriate sense of humour and knew the conversation would end with Wilson replying, "she's my daughter".

^^^^^^^^

Wilson would never say that.

 I couldn't possibly comment.

Wilson,I like the shot very much, not the grain, but,I am a no grain type of guy.:)

What I do like is your composition and the subject. The composition with the library background is very cool,i like that a lot and it suits the B&W aspect.

Thanks for the comment. I forgot how grainy 35mm was.

The model is Dani.

Like those David, lovely and sharp with nice tones.

Thanks Andy. I'm still trying to get to grips with it, literally as it's a bit of a beast. Although, the above 2 shots were taken handheld at a fairly slow speed so it is possible.

I've sent off some rolls of Portra to UK Film Labs, who I haven't used before, it will be interesting to see how they come out.

You're welcome.

#1 not to keen on that shot a bit confusing to my eye, but, the church tower in the LH background is very nice to see. #2 is different and very interesting, although some would say too washed out,I do not. The light balance across the photograph is to me fine. The focus is on the boats insignia which leading down to the hook which tethers the boat is so appropriate,it really makes for a great and well thought out composition and photograph. Congratulations on a great photograph in B&W.

Wilson, that is an excellent portrait, really great subtle colour. I can see you were using a Pentax 6x7, can I ask what lens and where this was processed?

Not quite sure how this came out the way it did, but I like it.

Olly OM10 Vista.
Andrew that is a really engaging shot! There is so much going on when you look into it! I also really like the colours you have achieved from the Vista, this film although cheap can yield some excellent results as your shot demonstrates.

Cheers Adrian. Its the !05mm f2.4, probably at f4. Processed at home using Firstcall C41 Softpack, but I processed black and white film amongst the rolls by accident, bit of a mess there losing a roll that turned out transparent.

Thanks Wilson, the 105mm looks a lovely lens. The home processing looks good to in spite of your darkroom mishap with the mono film.

Again in Spain.:)

Richard, I've been looking at the Rollei SL range (or the Voigtlander equivalent) and I see a few reviews that do not rate it very highly... Now I know that often people only review things if they are disappointed in them but I wondered what your thoughts are on them.

Andy, Hi there.

Rollei SL range apart from the German bodies are very unreliable,my SL35E has has two CLA,s since I bought it from Abermile on this site. Having said that the QBM Rolleinar lenses either German or Singapore or just brilliant and make up for the shortfall of the bodies and now you can buy SL35E body working for less than £30.00 so its win/win in my book. the voigtlander equivalent are about the same, maybe a little more reliable ,but, let me tell you this they are no replacement for the Voigtlander rangefinder,I can tell you that.

Buy the V rangefinder and not worry about the fragility of the Rollei SL and voigtlander SLR range. :)

Thanks mate, good to know. I think I shall carry on yearning for a Bessa until the bank balance is re-stocked enough.

My continuing adventures in LF.

I can never seem to get these woody type shots, these were as much to practice with the camera and to test developing in the rotary developer, which seems to work but my exposures have thus far been all over the shop so it's hard to say.

Somewhere in Dinorwic Slate Quarry, Fuji GS645S on Fomapan 100

Looks great. I've just loaded some Fomapan 200 which I haven't tried before so this pic has me more excited! Lovely tones on the slate ...path?

Here's one of Nellie which made it to Explore yesterday.

I love Fomapan 200 as well, enough to put up with its super annoying curl (on medium format anyway, maybe not as much as an issue on 35mm).

Someone gave me some sunflowers that she had grown herself. A couple of goes to do them justice;
