Show us yer film shots then!

theyre lovely, the second one is a real cracker :)

Im joining the Poundland Agfa 200 club with these from todays walkabout with my Kodak Retina. Looking forward to putting some decent B&W through it.
Cheers.

Looks like its working nicely, not sure if its my monitor but the sky looks just a little purple. Nice shots though, the random pattern of yellow in the second makes my eyes go a bit funny :D.

Asda usual, tweaked in Photoshop to get the rose looking the same as with my eyes i.e. not what the film or scanner thinks it should be :)

That is a seriously purple rose!

Sorry to flood the thread today (is there a daily limit?) but I have been scanning today.

One man and his dog from Fowey, Cornwall last weekend;

Really nice Mark! What type of car is that with the 100 on the hood?

That is the Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Mel. A concept car to celebrate Aston's 100th anniversary this year and it was absolutely stunning. Sadly it broke down the following day on the parade lap of the circuit rather unexpectedly on the Mulsanne straight with 99 other Aston Martins behind it all hitting the brakes to avoid what would have been a rather expensive PR nightmare. I was a passenger in a DB9 several cars back at the time.

The chap standing next to it is Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston and he was driving it when it broke down. I think somebody back at Newport Pagnell had a right ear bashing on Monday morning.....

Here is a shot of it in the holding area before we set off;

And a One-77 (£1.4m each, they only made 77 and as someone bent one there are now only 76....);

it does have a bloody lovely grain to it doesnt it!!!!

Yes, mono film does. I was never totally enamoured with the grain of COLOUR film.

PS - how did I get HERE, I'm lost - where did all those pics of cars & petrol pumps come from? Oh well, I might catch up tomorrow ...

Valencia station booking hall, so beautiful.

A very classy looking interior to a railway ?? station Richard.

A mixture of artificial and natural light along with deep shadows......well done to have got a nicely balanced exposure.

Shot on OOD Konica film by any chance?

Just scanned the test shots from the Thornton Pickard Ruby Reflex ( see here)

Straight out of the scanner with no pp so please excuse the dust, scratches etc....was too impatient to show the results from this old beast.

Some light leakage in No 1 I'll have to take a close look at the darkslide.

No 2. An area OOF in the centre of the image...I actually had a feeling this would happen when loading the film as the metal sleeve was a tad too tight making the sheet film bow ever so slightly......a minor job to open the sleeve a little wider....They are old kodak sleeves marked as 1/4 plate but the adox film is a fraction too wide to lay flat.

No 3. Purposely focused half way across the cascade with a fairly shallow DOF.
The motorbikes in the top left corner are a little distracting but given these are only test shots, it's no big deal.

No 4. lacks contrast but given it was shot with a lot of backlight, i'm actually quite pleased with it....Stopped right down to F/32 for a longish exposure of 1.5 seconds to give a little blur to the water.

Overall I'm delighted to find the camera works pretty much okay for it's age/condition and the relentless search for darkslides has paid off.

Compared to some LF kit I have, this is one of the easiest to use.

Hope i haven't bored you all to death! lol.......you guys probably realise by now that to keep old cameras alive is a dedicated passion of mine!

Any comments, praises or critiscisms ( constructive mindst!) are more than welcome.

Really like number 4 Asha, good to see you're still getting good images from these old beasts

Cheers Rob!

Hope to get some shots done with an old 1/4 plate Sanderson Regular camera soon.

The lens/shutter mech is presently being repaired as the speeds were very eratic.

I'll be putting it to test just as soon as i get it back!

Looking good Asha.

What causes the little "bite" out of the corner edge of the images (e.g. bottom right on image 4)?

Nice work Asha, great to see some shots from something so old.

I assume that Asha's used some cut down 4x5 film and it has a notch cut into it so you know you've put the film in the holder the right way round.

The notch is indeed for knowing which side of the film is the emulsion side for loadng purposes however the film was purchased quarter plate size so no need to cut down 4 x 5.

Admittedly obtaining quarter plate format outside of ilfords annual "obscure size promotion" is becoming increasingly difficult.

I might add the 100 iso Adox film used for these shots expired October 2011

Thanks Asha,

Not Konica this time, Velvia 100F which I enjoyed using very much.

Castellon Square.

Thanks Trevor,

I will try that the apex idea will work I think, however as for straightening, the roof is dead straight, I think the shadow and the buildings behind throw it out to the eye.

I will post the rework soon for you to see.

Castellon Square 2.

Moved the Apex of the building and leveled to the base of the columns, but to me it just shows up the roof more, you know what these Spanish builders are like.:)

Still let me know what you think, I would be most interested.

Second one for me Richard.....The french builders are as bad as the spanish....I just walk around with my head tilted to one side to compensate....all looks vertical to me then! lol

I think you are right, the roof is perhaps the lesser of the two evils and Trevor's tip on centralizing the building apex definitely works, thanks Trevor.

Richard. #2. Even with roof a bit out is much more pleasing to the eye.

(Wish I was there)

Thanks Trevor, I am going back in December.

Calle in Villarreal.

I like that one Richard. One tree missing on the right though, square crop to take out the one on the left? (It's hip to be square..... )

Saw this yesterday, shot on 4x5 on the Canham 5x7 with a reducing back.

Overgrown by Ed Bray, on Flickr

The Original size is huge.

Castellon old station, new sculpture in front and the enormous department store Cortes Inglis behind.
