Is it soft focus, or cocked up focus, it doesn't matter I think its beau.
I don't think I have the vocabulary to say why, I keep looking at it, maybe I'm looking for some sharp....I dunno....

Ok, she looks like a doll, and the background looks like a painted set from a stage show or something, but it isn't, its real and so is she.

It is funny you say this, because I was somewhat thinking the same thing. It is like the out of focus look seems to work here, something that could only be pulled of with film.

a bit of an antidote to the snow, my son liam last summer...

This was taken over the weekend, it's Buachaille Etive Mor shot with a Cambo SC-2 Basic and 210mm lens on Delta 100 5x4 and processed in Ilford HC.

Sorry if it's not really right but my own monitor is knackered and this one I can't trust so if my slight curves has blown it all out of kilter i'm sorry :)

I thought the Kodak was a bit grainy, Delta's not too bad usually, it depends on the processing/developer/method for both.
The cat one might be grainy through oversharpening, when you have a close up, you have a specific focus point to sharpen, so its easy to over do it unlike scapes or whatever, saying that though its not that bad, its mostly in the background.

It does look a bit contrasty, mid tones are shallow.....HC 110 is a beast of a developer though.

Looking sharp JG.

wow! makes me want to take the V8 out of my old rover and take some piccies :D

they look impressive, ive been thinking about trying bw400cn for the convenience/price of processing...

Gaz81 - those are all magic

Something about rocky outcrops in B&W - I just love it

Oh, and +1 for the nice sepia tones

Cheers!

Got more to scan (epson 4490) but just not got the time at the moment :(

Got some on Ilford XP2, wasn't keen on the prints but it seems to scan a lot better and seems very sharp.

Soon as I get a chance I'll post some.

...ohh, and I used a red filter. Really like what a red filter does to the contrast!

I've been meaning to get a red filter for my Bronnie, but never seem to get round to doing it. Off to the shop tomorrow!

I gave my Nikon F4s it's first run of film yesterday at a local Rugby derby.

All Ilford HP5+ @ ISO400. I have come to the conclusion I much prefer Delta 400 Pro

OM2, elite chrome 100...

any comments on the colour cast, is this normal with the film or due to all the snow/reflected light etc or is it just my eyes? if i play with the scans in gimp i can alter this but somehow it doesnt look quite right...
