Very nice Rob. Have you tried Kodak Portra 400 yet? If yes, then what do you think of it?

Cheers guys, now I look at it it does look a little skewed lol

I've not actually, I do fancy trying a few rolls though, bit expensive but probably worth it. I've just got a load of T-MAX 400 and a load of dev kit to have a go with, I'll post up some first attempts tomorrow once my negs are nice and flat :D

I have started using up my Fuji Neopan 400 and am very pleasantly surprised at it performance. Prior to this I had only used the C41 variety and it is a very different animal (the hit and miss Tesco lab processing, at that time, didn't help)

So, Fuji Neopan 400 - in stock D-76

I love the line and curves.

Couple from my first attempt at home developing, taken on Kodak TMAX 400 developed with Ilfosol 3 1:9 - 6m @ 20C. B+W red/orange filter used on both shots.

Some shots of the Victoria Government Parliament building on Vancouver Island in the Province of British Columbia, Canada. I really would have liked a color shot of that stained glass. There is something like over 3000 light bulbs are installed on the exterior.

Great stuff Tuco, and it would be nice in colour.

For me I've been trying out my latest purchase Minolta X-300 with:-

Vivitar 28mm f2, Reala, Asda dev and scanned, I've just adjusted the brightness down (always the same i.e. too bright)

and
Minolta 50mm f1.7... really sharp lens

One more off the roll, quite like this tmax, interested to see how it compares to the roll of Delta 400 I've got in camera now. this again taken with B+W red/orange filter.

The Fremont Troll. This is a concrete sculpture some people constructed under a bridge. I finally caved at took a token shot of this thing. To get an idea of scale, that is a real Volkswagen Bug clutched in the troll's hand.

And Amazingly, that's still not the biggest Troll We've had in Film and Conventional

I got the first roll of film from back from the Olympus Trip. After my meter tweaking it seems to be exposing nicely. And the lens is definitely sharp! Fuji Superia 400, exposure either 1/40 or 1/200 and f2.8+!!

Good results from that stand development. I've had to go to a semi-stand with more agitation because I'd get random, uneven development with the one-hour stand on 120 roll and 4x5 sheet. Your 120 results nice and even.

This and the second picture above are atypical of Tmax i.e. very nice IMO. Good effort.

As for the first picture Rob, I feel that the background takes alot away from the subject and for some reason I would have thought that picture to be something like Agfa APX or Rollei 100 not Tmax??

Thanks for the kinds words Tuco.

Now, how can anyone stay upright on such a highly polished floor? Don't they have enough of slipping and skating outside for several months of the year! :D

Thanks it was the first time I had tried it. One of the negs I did get slightly uneven development but over all happy with the results. As for the agitation it was swirling it around (like you do with a fine brandy/cognac) for first 30 seconds or so then leave for an hour.

Oh my oh my! Now your talking real developed tonality and smoothness.

Well done!

Thanks

Really like those images Ped

You will have to excuse me for not knowing what Agfa APX or Rollei 100 look like, I'm new to this game lol - but those shots are all off the same roll, could be something to do with horrible indoor lighting, I certainly cant explain it :D

annoyed that the sea blew out but learning how this camera meters. from my 2nd roll of film ever:

Brighton - Nikon F301, Expired '02 TMAX 400 BW, 50mm f1.8 AFD

5569094968_34406f2195_z.jpg

I quite like how it came out actually, gives it an almost 'foggy' effect :)

***annoyed that the sea blew out but learning how this camera meters. from my 2nd roll of film ever:***

We all have made exposure mistakes, the camera meter was probably reading the bright white clouds reflected in the sea...next time take a reading of something grey and set the camera to that reading manually or use the exposure lock lever.

Yep - sort of a "sea fret" kind of vibe going on ;)

I reckon that the shot, and the other couple in another post, are actually more washed out than blown, i.e. there were different colours in the sky and sea, but they rendered as the same tone in B&W. In these cases, a yellow/orange filter can often keep enough contrast to make things work.

Please excuse all the lint and bits on the picture. I (foolishly) bought some cotton gloves so as to 'better' handle the negatives! I could cry because of the amount of time taken to try to get rid of the cotton bits

Nesster (Jussi) a friend of mine, was kind enough to send me 4 rolls of Ferrania. 2 rolls of 100 and 2 rolls of 400. Thank you kindly 8-)

Of course, I chose the worst part of the day to shoot. high noon harsh sun light, but I was anxious to get out. I managed to shoot 1 roll of each using two bodies. It was very tough to do in the span of an hour...Anyway...It felt good to shoot analog again.

...............the place looks deserted for midday, surely it can't be that hot in March/April to keep people indoors.
