i'm keen to get a Crumpler, so I would be grateful for any pics showing how an SLR kit can fit into the following Crumpler bags.

Messenger boy
Muffin top 2500-4000
pretty boy

Many thanks!!

crumpler bags are a lot smaller than they advertise. I've just got a KATA dc-445 for £40 and it's nice. fits loads of stuff in - 2 bodies one gripped, 3 lenses, 2 flashes.... and thats just the main compartment

Some are. The Dehli ones are awfully large for how much gear they hold. Not feeling motivated enough to get a picture, but I can fit a D700 with a medium sized lens mounted + extra medium sized lens (stored horizontally) in a Messenger boy 3000.

This is an old pic of my muffin top 7500, I stored in it (if memory serves):

450D + tamron 17-50 in the middle
70-300 IS on the left (as you look at it)
430EX Flash
100mm macro (both on the right hand side)

Now I've got my 50D + lens, 70-200, 430ex, and either a 135mm prime OR an UWA. It's a tighter fit obviously, but just about works!

I have a Crumpler Farmer's Double Backpack, can get a 40D and three lenses in the camera compartment along with a few other bits
Also have a Pretty Boy XXL shoulder bag, that takes a 40D with lens plus two other lenses

Thank you for the pics, info and link. I'm deciding on whether to buy a bigger bag now for futureproof or a medium sized bag.

At the mo only got a 450d with kit len (w/ filter) and two additional batteries.
Will most likely be getting a 50mm and 50-250mm lens within a year or so.
I'm thinking a 4000 will be enough for me.

I will be getting a MT4000 today or tomorrow, if you can wait a couple of days I will take some pics for you, fingers crossed I should be able to get my 40D with a 18-70mm attached, then a 35mm and a 55-200mm.
Coming from crumplers diagram I hope this will be possible:

for the record, a few days ago there was a messenger boy 5500 on ebay for the same price as I paid for my MT, £35. But it was white

Hi,

I have a MT4000 and whilst the layout in the above picture is possible it seems a little bit more snug when I do it. Definately don't go for a smaller Muffin Top! Good bag though for my D60 and will easily fit an extra lens plus a few extras in.

I've got a Long Schlong :naughty:

40D with Tamron 17-50 in the top with filters etc on the right and batteries under the grip side of the body. Cards and cleaning kit stuffed into pockets of the front flap.

Then in the "secret compartment" I've got the 28-105 and 100-300 lenses. The charger fits in the other pocket if need be.

I had previously been stuffing most of this in a Muffin Top 4000 but it was tight - no room for the charger etc. or room for any other kit I might get.

here's mine. messenger boy 5500 with a 1Ds crammed in

On the left I also have space for a small prime, spare battery, some tubes, a flash and possibly some other nik naks. But yeah, the 1Ds takes up most of the space/weight :gag:

Are you sure you want to see inside my crumpled bags?? ;):D

WOW thats a big camera !!!

now i see why you cant get anything else in there !!!

Well, it does have a lens on the front so that's why it is almost popping out of the bag, but yes, it's quite wide/tall.

Thanks for the pics. The 5500 looks like a good size although your camera is a bit of a monster compared to mine.

Kris, is yours a white or grey coloured bag (exterior)? Looks white but parts of it look silver/grey.
If it's white do you reckon it'll get dirty quickly?

Also, Seth the 4000 looks a littletight fitting all that kit. I reckon camera and a lens plus some little bits is the limit. Seems awkward to close/carry around otherwise. On the other hand the long schlong looks good, liking the secret compartment. Can't find it anywhere though although I've noticed Crumpler seem to release a lot of bags over the year and they have some of the weirdest names ever for a line of products.

Anyone use a muffin full photo? I was thinking of picking one up for a second bag, sorry if this is slightly off topic as its not a shoulder bag.

Mine is white. It will get dirty depending on what you do, but the surface of the bag will be easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth.
