Should tipping be banned?

There's a bit of hoo-haa going on over tipping in restaurants. I personally think it's a ridiculous concept and should be banned in this country where it's not part of our 'culture' as it is in the United States.

Why should i be banned, if I want to tip for good service then surely thats my choice. And since when was tipping not part of or culture?
