...buy a man bag?

I have found that I have a need for utility bag other than a camera back pack......is the man bag the answer?:confused:

Hmmmm.

This is one of THE questions that we modern men face... Personally I think they're a PITA but the alternative is a bum bag so it's a case of the lesser of two unmanly and cumbersome evils...

Another thing is the price of these things but when (dragged licking and screaming) in TK Maxx a while ago I spotted they had a decent selection of cheapish man bag things. Might be worth a look.

Only if you also use grooming products such as teeth whitener and moisturiser...

In which case, just borrow one from your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend ... :D

No. Get some trousers with bigger pockets!

If the bag doesn't hold a FF camera and 70-200mm lens then its not big enough. :D

(Told her indoors that too, in respect of handbags - never know when I might need the facility).;)

I think a Billingham Hadley Pro canvas bag makes for a brilliant all purpose man bag.

A laptop bag is a completely different animal to a manbag. You can get laptop cases that look like attaché cases - no hint of femininity in those.

I've spent some of today driving a girl's car - Mrs Nod's to be precise. Not ashamed to be seen in it...

A rucksack is the answer - holds more than a manbag (or laptop case) and is completely sexless.

I don't have (or need) a handbag! I do have some bags for specific items but for day to day use, I have pockets that hold all I need! Can't speak for Mike/Gabriel though. ;) (BTW, you can get help for those voices if you want it.)

jeez guys, just call it a laptop bag and stop being so bloody precious about your masculinity, trust me, you are all big girls blouses round here at some point or another :p

:exit:
Only if they have a man bag. I wouldn't be seen dead with one.

Can't believe the number of boys I see wearing these.

If I bought one for either of my sons I know they would not be impressed and it wouldn't get used, burned maybe.

Oh no....I wouldn't dream of it :lol:

@archangel If you include the word tote when doing a bag search, you'll find a far wider choice available :lol:

Just seen the price of them ...so I think I will just buy a new back pack

The manufacturers on man bags are aiming for the pink pound, hence the higher prices for them over more masculine luggage!

NO!!!

I'm going into London after work tonight to meet some friends and I expect to be carrying:
* phone
* wallet
* car keys
* house keys
* office keys
* train pass
* sunglasses
* Kindle
* paperback
* MP3 player
* a couple of CDs I'm returning
* battery pack to recharge phone

That's what pockets are for.

Man bags are cool if I go out to meet mates for beer it can hold your phone wallet music player headphones and at a push a beanie

All of those things can be placed in the beanie, and the beanie put on your head :lol: :lol:

Pockets, Pockets, Pockets. All I have to say on the subject :)

I once went through a man bag phase but I kept getting stopped and searched in stores (Currys, Dixons, Comets, etc) that I ended up feeling uncomfortable with such an accessory about my person. I mean, the bag was only the size of an A5 piece of paper, big enough to store my FM radio walkman, mobile phone, wallet and keys, what did the security guard expect to find in there?!
Bear in mind that was in the days before MP3 players and compact digital cameras were the norm, now my wallet alone is big enough to house my smartphone.

Man bag is a big no no in my book, sorry. Pockets!!

No phones attached to lanyards either...another big no no :D

Lanyards should only ever be used for purpose of garrotting. :-)

My lanyard has saved me a few hundred quid by stopping my phone from crashing into the ground, the bog, the bath, the briny... Handy on the rare occasions I'm not wearing a shirt with a top pocket - means I won't either stab myself in the M+2V or break the screen when I sit down with it in a trouser pocket!

Try a cheapo manny bag and see how it goes i think they are cool but at the end of the day they have to suit the way you dress

I have an old knackered one I take if I am going out for a day or something. Handy to bung a newspaper in and a drink, also a camera maybe in there doesnt attract the thiefs eye as much as a flashy lowepro bag might. Although the bags too small to fit an SLR in really. Like somebody said, just pick up something "tatty" looking from TK Maxx, not a shiny leather one for £100 from M&S

Wouldn't catch me carrying a man bag.

I just wear my trusty cargo pants.
