For consideration I have LQ quikbounce, flash bracket, 2 x 600EXRT and transmitter.
First Scenario
At the weekend I got my camera out for a "pre-wedding party" at the mother-in-law's house. I ended up ramping my ISO, 800/1600.
Here 85mm f1.2 iso800 1/160

It got suggested that I should consider using a flash. At the time because I was using 1.2 for candids in cramped conditions, i didn't really think of needing it..
The actual wedding party
A lot of it will be outside, I took photos in the same environment a year ago for our engagement party. They were pretty noisy..

Should I plan to use a flash? and since this next event will be at night outside - what kind of modifier?
